I'm not really so much of a fan but I do like two or three of their songs, I'd go see them if there was nothing else on at the time but only if there was literally NOTHING worth seeing at the time!

They don't do it for me, and I'd be at the other end of the site, but I can see the rationale for it, far more so than for half the suggestions on here. I'm still reeling from the Bon Jovi thread.

so, not for me, but yeah, why not?

The Saturday early afternoon show they did in 02, at least in my memory was a big highlight. Bloody great drunken sing along with my girlfriends to Don't Speak and right laugh when Gwen got stuck up on the speaker!!! The love in the field during Don't Speak was similar to that while Lily was on this year! :D

They obviously did 2 shows in '02. Half of you went to the good one, but the rest of us were at the shite one.

I remember them starting off pretty bad, then Stefani seemed to get really pissed-off with the ripple of applause after each song and started shouting at the audience instead of getting whipped-up we just cringed and the set shambled along to an awkward end.

I'm sure we can do better. We could just turn the PA off and have a quiet hour! :D

    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
