A Week of Sundaes : Photo Exhibition

Ok, so it could be claimed this should be in the fringe thread, but surely it's worthy of a post in it's own right (because its not a gig!).

In the same way Pineapster fronts the city's music scene, initially arising from flickr are a brilliant bunch of amateur / semi / fully professional photographers in leicester. Under the curation of Jennifer Anne Simpson, they've grouped together to produce an exhibition of photos taken from both the main festival and fringe since their inceptions. It's called `A week of Sundaes`, located at the City Gallery slap bang in the City Centre (location 14 on the fringe flier map!), and it's free to view, running from the 11th to 15th August. if you've time on the friday or saturday of the main festival (or before if your in the city), you really should pop in and have a look. and hopefully they'll return next year for a bigger exhibition to mark the 10th anniversary of ssw and 5th anniversary of the fringe......

I went along to the opening of this exhibition last night...

It brings back a lot of great memories and it's well worth a visit for anyone with little to do on the morning of the festival.
