arriving on wednesday for 08.00

Its my first year ive been availble to get there for 08:00 on the wednesday. What time do people get there, as on the website says people will be turned away if they are there too early !

Good question, not going to get there that early myself but what time can you start queuing in your car?

We got there for about 8:15 last year and they let us park the car and then made us queue at the gate until about 9ish before they let us in.

This will be my 4th time getting there at 8am.............. Some years 7.50am some 8.10am................. But basically 8am............... Never the first, people already in and tents set up, but never turned away!!! Aim to get there around 8am and you'll be fine............ Not sure about any earlier, but to be honest there is no need!!!

Yep we're leaving Wakefield at 4, hoping to be there for 8. Doubt they'll turn us away, never heard of that happening to anyone.

I'm getting a worker's ticket, so i aim to get there about midday monday and then chill till training on thursday evening!!!! Gunna be a proper week long camping hoiliday!!

Was there for 0730 or so last year, everyone was being turned away, roads became a bit of a nightmare on the east side.

Won't get there until after 8am this year, might aim for 9am.

I wish I could get there for 8, I was a bit dissapointed at the camping space left when I arrived at about 7 in the evening last time.

i start my gate shift at 7 but i can never remember if it opens at 7 or 8 lol. i think it's 8. i remember hearing people banging on the gate bwhaa.

I get to Castle Cary at 11.45am on the wednesday. How long will it take me to get to the site from there? I plan to get the free shuttlebus. Or would it be quicker to walk?

Definitely not quicker to walk, it's more than 5 miles.

I haven't done the Castle Cary shuttle bus for a few years but I don't think it took much longer than half an hour to get to the site. I guess it depends how many trains have arrived just before you though...

I'm staying at my friend's house in Pilton the night before so we'll just stroll on over a few minutes to 8

For some reason I thought gates opened at 10, and was aiming for then! Not sure I'll be able to get up early enough to get there for 8! I'll have to think of a plan....

10am is a fine time to arrive mate. You're not going to miss much in two hours. There will be plenty of camping space left.

Coming from Yorkshire, we usually set off about 4am (like you Bradders), but this time we're coming down on the Tuesday and staying in the Travelodge at Ilminster (past Yeovil). It's a bit further, but at least we can get up at 7.30 on the Wednesday and have a nice jaunt for an hour or so, getting there about 9am.

We've got there about 9 in previous years and people have already been set up and that.

I will be there in that 8am traffic this year also. LAst time I went was in 07, arrived at about midday on wednesday and could not find a decent spot anyway, ended up pitching next to a pylon.

So that's why, I'm aiming for 8am this year!

Got there around 7.30am last year and the gates weren't open had to wait til 8 or so, once into the carpark we had to queue and wait for the turnstiles to open (around 9 i think) this was west side, so getting there too early won't do you any good, aim for 8 - 9 a.m and you should be fine.

I remember one year we were already half way through a BBQ by 9am. Helping people put their tents up whilst someone else sat by the BBQ.

In 07 arrived around 1pm in the wrong car park, ended up finding a blind spot in Kidney Mead (cos it did look full) and ultimately listened to the Dame from our tent over fine wine
