working at glastonbury

hi just wondering if anyone has worked at glastonbury before and if so, would they recommend it?

ive been offered 60 hours over the friday-monday, all night shifts doing traffic control. it sounds like a lot and im not sure if it will be worth it- i wanted to work there to earn a bit of money while enjoying the festival but that volume and type of work sounds like it will very boring and leave me dead during the day.

its with cash and traffic management btw.

also does anyone know any other companies that are good to work with?

thanks!

No idea what pay you're getting but a lot of the people - security excepted- that 'work' at Glastonbury are volunteers that get their ticket paid in reutrn. My mate does it for Oxfam and has worked her way up to quite a lofty position. I know she has to work 8 hour shifts at different times on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and she also goes down a bit early.

So if you're doing it to make money then I'd suggest either security or this other company. If you still want to have a reasonably good time at the festy then consider volunteering

Alright, To be fair 15 hour shifts sounds pretty lame. I have worked with DC Site services the last few years, not at glasto however, they are good, pay usually about £5-£6 pound hour and 8 or 12 hour shifts. They work onsite as vehicle escorts if I remember and clickers.

You can also work for free doing litterpicking (which i've done a couple of times) or Oxfam.

I've worked for the last few years (and will again this year) as a fire steward in Lost Vagueness/Shangri-La,

3x6hr shifts, and I get a free ticket,

there are lots of volunteering jobs at glastonbury, and those would definately seem to be better for enjoying the festival, 60hours doesnt leave much festivalling :P

I steward at two other festivals - the Trowbridge Pump and Cambridge Rock - both of which only ask for three three-hour shifts. Stewarding at Glaso sounds like long hours. I'd rather save for the ticket at Glasto and enjoy myself and enjoy not having to be 'responsible'.
