Interesting mix, as usual. Not many "big names" yet (Sham 69 are no Undertones / Buzzcocks). Is that because less tickets on sale = smaller budget? Not that that's a problem, if it means keeping it a small, friendly festival, and often discovering a new band is better than listening to someone churning out a greatest hits set.

Any plans to run the punk karaoke again?

Roll on August!

The final headliners are

Pama International

Dreadzone

There will be other bands released nearer the time.

Other things occurring…..

Kids area

This year we are currently in talks with Panic Circus to run the majority of our kids area - http://www.paniccircus.co.uk/ . things are nearly finalised and we look forward to having them on board.

In celebration of all things Westcountry, we are proud to announce Scrumpy Sunday, hosted by Dorset Lovelies Who’s Afear’d. The event will take place on the third stage, (which is now situated in the Wig-on Casino) on the Sunday afternoon. Expect traditional Scrumpy ( none of they fizzy nonsense), great bands with which to drink a drop of the golden stuff, drink awareness schemes and plenty of off the wall comedy action from the hosts. This is also Ladies Day – a chance to dress up in a pretty frock, drink scrumpy and no-one bat an eyelid – the two events go hand in hand - quite perfect really. More details – but not too many - will be released nearer the time

In the mean time there are plenty of Endorse it gigs scampering over the horizon.

This Saturday in Southampton at Talking Heads sees Cash Converted, SubGiant & Pronghorn storming the stage in what promises to be a great night.

Later this Spring we have a weekender planned at Wimborne in The White Hart. Each evening over the first May Bank Holiday ( May 1st, 2nd & 3rd) Endorse it Festival will be taking over the stage to provide their renowned “quality entertainment at a reasonable price”. There is also a Town Crier competition planned, featuring Endorse it’s own Rock & Roll Town Crier, Chris Brown.

Running times/dates will be released in the near future, but bands booked so far include, The Guns of Navarone, Who’s Afear’d, Pronghorn, The Boot Hill All Stars, Henry’s Phonograph and Cash Converted. Keep your eye on the forum/facebook group for details.

And it gets better……

During the Wimborne Folk Festival, on Saturday 13th June, Endorse it will be hosting the event of the festival at Paw Paws night club. This will feature Who’s Afear’d, Cash Converted, The Boot Hill All Stars & Pronghorn. For those who don’t know, Pronghorn play every year in one of the pubs at Wimborne Folk Festival. It is always the highlight of the Saturday night and the pubs are always sold out.

So do come on down – everyone’s welcome

Line up certainly taking shape. Really looking forward to it.

Are the three headliners Zion Train / Dreadzone / Pama Intenational?

Zion Train and Dreadzone always good, Pama International OKish.

Is there any more punk planned or will we just have to sing along with Fat Drunk and Stupid?

I always think it's a shame that Endorse it clashes with Rebellion but I guess there are only so many summer weekends. Bring Goldblade back!

is the main stage now a big tent, did I read somewhere?

yeah - they've done away with the outdoor stage, and the stages are now all undercover.

They've also reduced the festival capacity, to return it to the intimacy of the earlier Endorse It festivals. This isn't being done because of poor sales previously or expected poor sales for this year (tho the timing of the capacity reduction is possibly timely given the financial situation), but to make it (in the organisers opinion anyway) a better festival. :P

To clear things up....

It all depends on how you define headliners. If you define Headliners as the people who play last in the evening on a stage, then there can only be three. Our view is that we have more than three headline acts and they aren't always put in the last slot. The line-ups are designed in a specific way, much like a band or DJ organise their set.

For example in 2007 we had Lee Perry, Mad Prof, Phil Hartnol, Dreadzone, Eat STatic, Zion Train and THe Undertones. All can and have headlined festivals in the past. If you go by the headliners as the last slot, then its all a bit unbalanced - which three is it??. If you consider having "headline acts" as bands who are great who are playing the festival, then everyone is happy, as there's always something else to do if that act doesn't do it for you.

However, if you do go by the "last to play "rule, then the headline act swill be Dreadzone, Eat Static and Zion Train - please do remember though that your rules for defining this are different to ours.

Hope that helps

Gotta look at the whole line-u rather than just the headliners, surely.

Don't know about anyone else but I'm always bladdered on screech by the time the last bands are on so can never remember what they was like. Afternoon is where it's at! Sunshne, scrumpy and a vague chance of recall!

how much longer are we going to wait till the next acts are announced?

I really, really want to go again but what's on offer so far just doesn't seem to compare to the brilliance of previous years. Still I guess that's inevitable with a smaller crowd and a cheaper ticket.
