Checking ID on entry?

Hi guys!

Hoping to do Global Gathering this year, however come festival time I'm going to be a few months (3 to be exact) short of being 18. Just wondering if any of you could tell me if they're strict on ID etc, as I don't want to go and find out that I'm not allowed in :/

Hoping to go with my cousin who's 22, and I look older than my age so...

Please help as I'd really appreciate it!

Cheers!

Maz

Hi Maz.

Global Gathering has always been advertised a "stricly over 18's event" and they always state that ID is required upon upon entry, but every year I've been I've never seen anyone get ID'd, or been ID checked myself. One of my best mates is 21 but literally looks like a 14- year- old and he got in both times he came with no trouble at all.

It's more of a deterrant than anything else, although whether or not this year will be any stricter I can't say. Should be fine though mate, at the end of the day its just more hassle for them, unless they can they actually can be bothered to ID like 45,000 people.

    • The Radio Dept.?! That's a surprise to me, they haven't toured in like 8 years. Hopefully they will announce some more shows.
    • I was assuming September in Stirling might have a different issue tbf in the form of it just pissing it down.
    • Yeah so many of mine seem to be just France v Spain in one semi and England/Brazil v Argentina in the other. But the fact those combos are the obvious ones mean it feels unlikely that'll happen because in World Cup history, you very rarely end up with what pre-tournament looks like the obvious final 4. We all see teams outperform and underperform. Which one is the fall guy is a different matter.   I've said elsewhere that for me, there's a hierarchy of Spain, France and Argentina as the 3 strongest looking, then England and Portugal, then Brazil and Germany, but that overall, they'd be the 7 likeliest to win. So I dunno, maybe this will be the time the Netherlands avenge the failure of total football in 1974 and achieve what they couldn't achieve through whatever the f**k Nigel de Jong was with his 2010 final karate moves.
    • Oh I think Infantino should resign. His handling of the whole WC process has been an utter shitshow. But you know. That would require him having integrity or something.
    • Good Charlotte would be fine third down or subbing. If they can get a bigger sub and still get GC, they’ll play third down.
