goodoldfashionedmosher
Anyone over 30 going to Reading? - Do you still camp or do you fork out for a hotel? i just can't justify paying £300 for a hotel for the weekend plus a weekend ticket, that's just ridiculous. Do you camp in "quieter" white? is it worth the walk to the arena? & is it really as quiet as it's supposed to be? i'm not an old fart, but i can't go 4 nights without sleep anymore, those days are gone. i don't care about the grime or smelly toilets, that doesn't bother me in the slightest - it's the scary flying gas canisters & mental people on whatever they get their grubby hands on. feral chile
I'm 48, my husband's 54, and we go to Reading when we can get hold of tickets! We'd prefer not to camp but it's too expensive to stay in a hotel.

sickhappy
I'm only 24 (25 for this years festival) and I will be seeking out the quietest spot possible in White this year - it may be a trek to Green Car Park but it'll be worth it! Just don't have the energy I used to, and the young'uns have boundless amounts!
metallimuse
Yeah i'll be 25 by the time that this year's rolls around and even last year i felt quite old there.Need my sleep.I'm old before my time.Don't think i'll go this year which saddens me but Knebworth seems alot better this year. rivalschools.price
im 39 and been going for years.dont camp any more, ive two mates who live in reading so i stay with them.as an old man i find it much better to wake up on sunday morning after sleeping in a proper bed, nursing my hangover with anadin and orange juice, nice shower, full breakfast, read the news of the world, watch 'goals on sunday' on sky sports, then a few pints in the pub before wondering back down to the festival at about 4pm.not very rock and roll but it makes me feel better when i see unwashed, tired and unshaven campers looking rough and chuckle to myself and remember that that was me 5 years ago. Duffbox
Reading could do with some older people, when I went when I was sixteen, which wasn't too long ago, me and my friends were in a minority age-wise. A lot of the trouble reading has is from little 16 year olds, who having been let out of Mum and Dad's sight for the first time think it's a good idea to run around burning tents and generally being a nuisance, I also think the £390 spent on ebay was during the pre-sale period, although I might be wrong. calumtom19
see thats the stereotype that us teens have to live with day in day out I jus go 4 the music and the atmosphere only those of us stupid enuf to meddle with wot we dont understand will be putting tent on the fire. The whole ebay thing was probably one of the most naive things Ive ever done and hopefully will ever do.
Duffbox
I wasn't neccesarily saying you were one of the many morons that reading seems to attract, and I wish everyone went for the music, the socialising and the merriment. But these days there is a large problem with 'rioters' as they have been refered too, although I think dickheads is a much better name,

phil123
Me and my wife go every year, l'm 29 and she's 31. We go to leeds tho and l think the whole campsite and arena at Reading are set up differently so l can't really say where would be good place to camp. At leeds we camp in the brown camp which the furthest away from the arena and its the quietest. There is the dickhead crew thats goes but they are in the likes of red and blue, its just a small minority tho. l'm not saying that ALL the poeple who are them campsite's are dickheads, its just where the trouble starts... Young ones who can't handle there drinks.

Is it safe or is it best to pack up and go to another camp site?
