I ended up going on my own in 1999 - long story.

Not sure if it was before the age of internet forums, if if I just didn't bother looking, but I spent the weekend on my own, and had a great time, just wandering around taking it all in.

To be honest I would still have liked to have been with somebody, but you can have a good time even if you don't go to one of the meets.
