Caravan question - knives & glasses

Hi

Am going for the first time this year with my caravan.

Do I have strip my caravan of knives & glasses etc before going. I know you cant take anything onto the festival site but I do have a couple of big sharp kitchen knives and a 4" Gerber blade & Swiss Army Knife for general camping use ??

There are security at the entrance to the campervan / caravan fields. We always go in our campervan and every year get asked if we have any glass or knives. One year a particularly fussy security guy asked to look in our van, we let him and while he was checking he knocked the cutlery all over the floor, whether it was to save face after all his mates laughed or for real he confiscated our bread knife and we had to collect it after the festie finished. You never can tell!!

Knives and cutlery you should be fine with. Take all your glass out though, remember that you are on working farm fields so broken glass is a big no no! I'm not saying you would break them but it cancels out the risk.

Last year the security chap searched almost everywhere even my porta potti but did not confiscate anything .I only had a couple of small sharp knives that always live in the van and I forgot to remove them..never have glass anyway as I am a clumsy oaf
