Sleeping bags?

I have a macpac Meridian which is bloody gorgeous, it's light and I think it's down filled, it's like sinking into a soft cloud and it's really warm.

BUT it was also rather expensive I seem to recall, and the kids want the same type of bag for the festival - can anyone recommend something similar but not stupidly expensive? It's a mummy style.

The main thing is the softness, lightweight and warm. Cheers!

Doesn't have to be kid size, in fact probably better if it's full size?

these are down filled mummy style bags.... but they smell of soldiers

Can't help with mummy style sleeping bags, as I can't stand them. I've got a nice Vango Nitestar 300 rectangular sleeping bag, also have the XL version, but that is huge and too big to take to Glasto.

Also worth considering whether you'd prefer the zip on the left or right or if it matters at all!

I was looking at the Vangos, they look good and reasonably priced. The Escape looked quite nice, and one site was doing two for £45 (outdoor world.co.uk) which seemed quite good.

heh heh heh - "smell of soldiers!" they look pretty sturdy bags actually, but I did notice the "could do with a dry clean" part!

still, one of the best night's sleep I've ever had has been under a Chinese army issue duvet!
