Hi Guys,

i have just purchased my ticket for this years festival, this not only is my first Glastonbury, it is also my first festival. I am going with just 1 friend and i was hoping for someone to list all of the essentials needed for festival life, and the quantities for just the two of us.

Cheers

Welcome.

Lots of help and advice can be found on these boards. A couple of places to start are

/index.php?showtopic=80617&hl=uber">Here

and

/index.php?showtopic=60822&st=0&start=0">here

Plenty of reading in that lot! Take your time to go through those threads and you'll pick up some great tips and purchases and keep your eye on these boards from now until the festival (and beyond!).

My first festival was Glasto 2003 and I was blown away by it, I'm sure you'll be the same! :)

There's lots of excellent stuff in the links above and the advice here, but don't follow it all. Make sure you find something that's different, that's yours. Have your own experieinces, and enjoy the random and unexpected. Go your own way a little bit, it's all good

i have been looking at the map that someone kindly posted, and from the looks of things i feel that lower mead is the place i would ideally like to set up camp. Can anyone who has stayed here please tell me how fast it fills up, and what the atmosphere generaly is like around this area.

Not been to Glasto but can't imagine you'd take much different to what I took to TitP last year.

There's the obvious ones; tent, money, tickets, plenty of water as its summer and you'll get dehydrated, wellies, clothes(not new stuff tho - theres no point going out and spending money like your going on holiday then bringing it all home and its wrecked)

Then you'll obviously want to take booze, probably sun cream if you burn easily ;), mouthwash and a toothbrush, wet wipes, handwash, munchies (I took loads of pringles, cereal bars and a box of weetos - dry food i suppose thats easy to eat
