yea yea... so we heard

even more envious

a good trip then?

Fantastic. Barca itself is great, Id never been before.

Bruce - Never seen him in that form before. Really really up for it. Think thats 13 & 14 Bruce shows for me and the first time I've ever seen him do Born in the USA with the full band. I'm still hoarse! Was watching a video of me aged 8 a few months back singing it in my kitchen.

So many highlights from both shows. Nils solos on Youngstown/Murder Inc on the first night being one of them. Racing in the Street - as always - wow.

My not too emotional mate had a "moment" during the River.

Something about parents bringing their kids to gigs I love, probably because my Dad did it with me and it resonates so much later in life.

This was lovely. At 3.54.

no 'Outlaw Pete' on the setlist?

I bet you were gutted. :P

haha no!!

I think you mayeven have enjoyed (some of) it Neil. Hes dispensed with the Working on a Dream type thing. A lot more raw, depressing in parts, real. And the new album is much better than the last one. The stuff about people losing homes etc (he spoke in Catalan - I had to get someone to translate - a first) really hit home, especially in Spain.

Hes managed to be more wide reaching now yet even more relevant. Every song means something different to every person. Crowd ranged from aged 3 to aged 80. On the 2nd night there were three 10 year old girls beside me that went Beatlemania crazy when he came on. Just went apeshit. Tears and everything.

Bloody hell! I'm breaking my Springsteen duck this year in Sunderland and Manchester and I would be ecstatic with that setlist

Alright last two......

The end of this was great.

And the crowd here! Compare that to the Hard Rock Calling crowd.

He came out to Protection by Donna Summer (which I never knew he wrote). She died a few hours earlier.

Not really a fan, yet, but got tickets for his gig at Hard Rock Calling. Hopefully I understand what the buzz is all about..

Maybe not if thats the only gig you go to. A lot of London crowds are too cool to do anything but stand there most of the time. The HRC dvd Bruce released has a crowd of statues.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
