Two weeks to go and to get all those planning to come a bit excited, here's a little teaser of what is to come...

Check out http://www.sunrisecelebration.com/performance.php for full details...

This is a brief guide to just some of the performance at Sunrise in 2009!

The Hurly Burly

A place where spontaneous Alice in Wonderland type things happen.

Where every soul who enters becomes an exalted guest and all are lavished with food music and love.

...An intimate & lively festival venue with a stage, solar powered LED lighting rig and a small but ample sound system.

...A temple of truly glorious food.

...A hotbed of creative adventure

We roll past mountains of mime, miracles of music, street theatre and a few cosmic jesters.

Master of Ceremonies, Luigi Chocolatti & the resident band 'The Hurly Burlies' along with Gypsy Jazz, String Quartet, The Toy Orchestra, B Movie Tragic Love Songs, Clowns, Fairies & Masked Magicians.

At other time, the vintage loudspeaker plays mostly 1940s swing and gypsy jazz

Check the video here:- http://www.thehurlyburly.co.uk/video.html

Eartheart: Circus and Cabaret Stage

Eartheart at it’s core celebrates creativity. It really is that simple. So, enjoy the most ground breaking circus and revel in burlesque delights and raucous spectacular with guests to the space: the prolific Invisible Circus. It doesn’t stop there.....Strictly participatory pandemonium includes taking your poetic side in the cosmics vs cynics Sunrise Summer Slam showdown and giz us a tune as we’d be delighted to hear you in one of our open mic slots. Eartheart is all bout that festival fluidity…There will always be surprises conjured with a host of divine acts, but remember: There Is No Audience so be prepared to share some of your own scrumptious magic in this eclectic trove of reggae, dance, ska, beatboxing tomfoolery and all the yumminess in between.Yes, sexy aliens are included. And don’t be surprised if a rugged cave man puts you over his shoulder too because Eartheart is spanning the ages on the Saturday night with 300OBC VS 3000AD dress up.

Be nice to the 100m long, fire –breathing dragon that watches over the shenanigans, for you are crunchy and very good with organic ketchup…Mmmm. Eartheart has it all. Dragons and aliens aside, don’t chip on if you fancy a food fix, as we create a beautiful space with an organic café and bar serving delicious munchies where you can luxuriate in the aesthetics of spiraling tents and amazing visuals using LED lighting......Be inspired.

The Invisible Circus

The finest of Bristol's Underground Circus Scene, The Invisible Circus, will be joining us for One Night Only to present a very special cabaret show. The maestro's behind the revolutionary, spectacular Carnyville extravaganzas and the conversion of Bridewell's Old Police Station into the stunning venue 'The Island', Invisible Circus will be hosting a micro-version of one of their renowned cabarets at Sunrise this year. You are promised a gaudy cocktail of grotesque caricatures, clashing colours, faded glitz, misfits, jokers and wild cards. An anarchic pantomime with a delicate frosting of candyfloss smeared into sticky sawdust, greasepaint and smudged lipstick…..Watch out for sporadic madness, wild walkabout and bizarre performances across the site throughout! The Invisible Circus is a collective of multi-skilled artists formed during a decade and a half of world travel and adventure as street performers. The companies Renegade Fabulon Circus Stage became a festival favorite after it's debut in the first Lost Vagueness field at Glastonbury 2002 and they have appeared in over 20 countries worldwide. www.invisiblecircus.co.uk

Wow!

Heart goes out to all the Bearded Theory organisers. Truly a freak & mad event. Seems the festival season has a new habit of starting with a splash and a crash.

On the positive side, the weather forecast is starting to look good beyond the next day or so. Just in time for us to move on site and get set-up. And the good news is that despite 10 days pretty constant rain, the site is in glorious condition still - no stinking mud, nor cesspools of milk fat, nor any perilously full watercourses.

Phew. Here's to a lucky one this year!

Keeping an eye on the weather for you. It's all in the balance so far according to those professonally skilled/knowledgeable weather geeks over on Netweather, but agreed there's hopes for more positive in the next few days, we can only hope drier conditions last ....

Check here for links/updates over the coming days. I check the weather sites so that you don't have to!!

Gotta feeling its gonna be a good one.

On another note, Flip, old thing, Melanie is playing in Frome (literally a few miles up the road from the new site) on Wednesday 27th of May, day before the festival.

Interesting coincidence. Am working on her...

Well, the weather forecast is bearing up, though there looks to be some light rain in advance. Even the Met Office is finally agreeing with what everybody else has been saying that the weather for the event looks ACE!

The sun has been shining here on site, the festi is being erected and there's a great buzz.

Looking forward to seeing those of you coming in this beautiful Somerset countryside very very soon!

Its going to BE A CRACKER!

Well, the storms have missed us so far, though its a bit breezy. The sun is shining and the vibe is full summer sunshine and smiles.

There's been the usual Sunrise calamities - like forgetting to build the bandstand, oh dear! - and the ever decreasing space in the arena and a multitude of others joyous challenges.

But still, its probably going to be the best Sunrise yet, so we ride with it and love every moment.

Anyhow, I really should not be on the internet!

See you here x

Latest update (6:40 Tuesday) to Metcheck's outlook for Frome looks pretty much perfect for a very pleasantly sunny and dry one! :D:D:lol:;):D

Pretty much all the forecasts now agreeing that we're up for a cracking weekend -- here's some synoptic eye candy (from the midday forecast update) for those who like very summery looking weather/pressure charts :D:D

Well guys and gals,

It comes at last! Can't wait to see you all in the fields, at what WILL be the defining Sunrise so far. It is beautiful here, despite today's rains, the ground is relatively dry and distinctly unmuddy in general, the people here are awesome, everything just looks and feels special!

So come and take the chance to join us whilst you can. If you haven't experienced Sunrise yet, it WILL be the best yet. If you have, it will STILL be the best yet.

WOWOOWOWOWOWOW! Its here!!
