sionell
The cheapest flights I can find at the moment is £121.00.
Madalien
Your right, Ryanair are pretty shit. They charge so much for bags too. The flights I've been looking at for £121.00 is with Malev airlines flying from Gatwick on the Monday and flying back on the Monday after the fest. I stayed in Budapest for a couple of nights after the festival last year, it was nice to see a bit more of Budapest but we were so shattered from the fest that we couldn't really do much, I could hardly walk because my feet ached so much! Blisters an all! So this year I just want to head straight home. I'd recommend you go visit the Szechenyi baths, it's an open air spa, it's a great place to relax after the festival or even as a break from the festival. It's near Heroes square. guitarbaz
We paid about £150 each for flights with Jet2 from Manchester but we are staying on a few days after the festival to do the touristy stuff we didn't get round to doing on our last two trips! We could have got cheaper flights with Ryanair from East Midlands but they're a truly shite airline, and last year they cancelled the outgoing Monday flight that we would have been on and we'd have missed the first two days of the festival. And their baggage allowance is ludicrously small. Our choices have been limited by wanting to fly out on a Monday and back on a Friday as the schedules with the cheaper airlines don't match up, and since I have to drive us to the airport it isn't feasible to buy single flights going from one airport and coming back to another. Believe me, we've looked at *every* option!
sionell
didn't get to spend too long up at the Szechenyi baths so we'll be back there for beers and relaxation!

kokota
Can someone tell me if last year were all the festival passes sold-out months before or is there a chance I could buy one, in let's say, July? Btw, line-up looks amazing, and I think this will pretty sure mess with my plans for the summer.. Offspring, Prodigy, Placebo, here I come! Madalien
I think all the camping passes sold out about a month or so before the festival, it doesn't sell out fast but I personally wouldn't wanna risk it

guitarbaz
gettin flights sorted is the hardest part, tickets do generally seem to be readily available. bit of a chicken and egg scenario as to which you go for first tho. accomodation is pretty easy to find if you don't fancy camping, and very reasonable as well. Cactusgirl
More confirmations on Sziget News taken from the official Hungarian site ''New official names have been confirmed for this year’s Sziget Festival, here, on the Hungarian official site. The most important are The Offspring, that are now 100% confirmed, for those of you that didn’t believe us , Snow Patrol and Die Toten Hosen. But wait, that’s not all. Ethno-ska Ukrainian outfit Haydamaky is also confirmed for this year’s Sziget Festival, as is Disco Ensemble and Squarepusher (British electro artist Tom Wilkinson’s alias), as well as Matatu, also on the ska front. Punk fans will be quite happy to hear about Backyard Babies, as will drum ‘n’bass fans be about Miloopa. Also, Sziget Festival will be graced by the presence of Coldcut, Blastik Mechanism and De Staat. The announcements list ends with Donots and Expatriate'' Line up is looking good - would LOVE Daft Punk to play. Have booked flights, ticket and Guitarbaz is very kindly putting me up in his plush apartment! Also persuaded another splinter group to come along as well who are all booked up. Roll on August!!! Cactusgirl
Not Snow Patrol Do you think they will headline? (please no please no) I would suggest they are certainly big enough but Razorubbish headlined Reading in 07 and only had an afternoon slot at Sziget from memory. arteet
I would definitely imagine they are headlining - not my cup of tea but big enough and been around a while
Stilian99
Hmmm... gettin' really worried. Over half of the mainstage bands announced and only prodigy is worth a look. No metalstage equals no rocknroll? They turned their sold out and record breaking festival to a frikin indie&dance festival? Compare this shit to last year: Iron Maiden, Anti-Flag, Flogging Molly, Leningrad, Volbeat, Pro-pain, REM, Jamiroquai, Millencolin, Danko Jones, Delinquent Habits, Hocus Pocus, Exodus Or the year before: Manu Chao, Soulfly, Ektomorf, Madness, pink, Gogol Bordello, NIN, The Hives, Tool, Cornell, Eagles of death Metal, Hanoi Rocks, Leningrad Rest of the mainstage acts should all be great for this to work. That isn't very likely, now is it ? Well going anyways, so I have find other ways to enjoy the Sziget. This line up looks like my final trip to this festival. guitarbaz
i'm rather hoping that bore patrol are not a headliner. then again it gives you a chance to go see something else, there'll be plenty on. and the tribute band's tent can be pretty hilarious! meh, i'm sure the lineup will be more than adequate. early days yet. gtrance
Not that I condone this in any way but how easy is it to get drugs at Sziget - pills, ket, speed? Is it easy enough in the dance music area? Thanks
guitarbaz
can't say i saw much evidence of it last year. but tbh if you want to chance your arm in a foreign country well....rather you than me.
