Hi All...

I know this is far too soon but endoftheroadro did say that he is always up for suggestions! Anyway...here are a few suggestions for me for EOTR 2009 (limited to 10!):

- Anais Mitchell (for me the best singer songwriter of the last five years...I think she is touring with Bon Iver later this year - her "big break" finally!)

- Andy Whittle (perfect for early on in the Bimble)

- Ted Barnes (beautiful and moody...a late set in The Local?)

- Teitur (have the Faroe Islands been represented at EOTR before?!)

- Hayden (special canadian singer songwriter)

- Ben Christophers (doesn't tour much these days...you can do it...get him involved...genius!)

- The Veils (need something a bit more rocky for early evening on the Garden Stage)

- Emmett Tinley (of Prayer Boat fame...Attic Faith is astounding)

- Fleet Foxes (must have just missed the cut this year - have to get them next!)

- David Ford (another one perfect for early Bimbling!)

If I can get a couple of the above I will be VERY happy...what about you guys?

Pretty much all of the above

Add Warren Ellis to Nick Cave and you've got perfection. Saw just the pair of them, play together in the last century some time and it was wonderful.

My thoughts

Peter Broderick - Saw him last night, the guy is a genius and plays everything including violin, guitar, piano and musical saw usually all in the same song)

Efterklang - Great band from Denmark (Peter Broderick plays violin, trumpet, percussion and sings with them too)

Daniel Johnston - Lo-fi songs that can touch the soul in such a way you forget he can't actually sing or play guitar that well

Amiina - String section from Sigur Ros who play lovely folky instrumental stuff and play at least 20 instruments on stage between them, getting better each tim I see them

Ballboy - Great indie pop songs from Scotland

Fionn Regan - Charasmatic singer-songwriter from Ireland

Do Make Say Think - Fantastic instrumental band from Canada, lots of members playing guitars and trumpets (That really is a poor description of them)

f**k Buttons - Check them out live and you'll see why, perfect for ending the night in the Big Top

Vic Chesnutt - Especially if he still has a Silver Mt Zion as his backup band (Oh why did Efrim think he could sing?)

Motorhead - In the Bimble Inn on Sunday morning - perfect way to start the day

Sufjan Stevens

Joanna Newsom

Sparklehorse

Would be my (realistic?) three headliners I'd like to see.

Bands I'd like see return:

I'm From Barcelona (felt a bit wrong without them there this year)

Loney, Dear

The Acorn

Over The Wall

Seabear

Sons Of Noel And Adrian

Jens Lekman

Port O'Brien

Paris Motel

My Latest Novel

Suburban Kids With Biblical Names

Shearwater

'virgin' eotr Bands I'd like to see:

Efterklang

Hjaltalin

Orphans & Vandals

Get Well Soon

Real Tuesday Weld

Why?

The Notwist

Stars and Sons

Bodies Of Water

Choir Of Young Believers

Slaraffenland

Lost In The Trees

Au

A. J. Holmes

Jong Pang

Benni Hemm Hemm

The Ruby Suns

Shugo Tokumaru

Le Loup

Breathe Owl Breathe

Johann Johannsson

Psapp

Final Fantasy

Gosh, it'd be so great having a festival where you could just choose all the folk you wanted (until they started clashing with one another). But then it'd also be sad if folk say they can't/won't play.

I've bought Early Bird tickets for the first time for next year. Although am slightly disgruntled about the misleading '£90' ticket price, but ah well, should still be a little bit cheaper than buying them next year I imagine.
