beautifulloser
So now you're calling me a music snob? That's pathetic. If I pay my £95 quid for a ticket I'll comment on whatever I want. If you don't like it, tough shit. I couldn't care less.

andyblack
JAMC at SSW in 2009 though. A couple of fat blokes doing songs about smack. Without the hyperbole of the first time they're just a Velvet Underground in a club style. Edited August 29, 2008 by andyblack
Ed Leaf
They were vital, exuberant, literate with a full dollop of originality and most of all, fun to me. With a plethora of english skinny white kids f**king the rotted corpse of Ian bloody Curtis or stealing some sh*te post punk skinny pop and making a career out photocopying someone elses past, I'll take my chances with a soulful singer songwriter borrowing a bit of JAMC rythym ssection and doing something worthwhile with it. snow patroller
Doves (goes without saying, but it would feel wrong not to include them in the list) Vampire Weekend Justice Mystery Jets Foals Jamie T Mansun (for legend slot)
andyblack
paul draper recently poured cold water on any mansun reformations in a recent drowned in sound interview. http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/3760026
fullfathom5
Clearly wouldn't happen, but what about asking John Power to speak to Lee Mavers about a La's gig?

5co77ie
Adrian Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds sound like a good bet for festivals next summer "conceived by comedian Adrian Edmondson featuring Martin Allcock from Fairport Convention and Jethro Tull, Troy Donockley renowned for his work with Iona, Maddy Prior and Midge Ure plus rising Irish star violinist and vocalist Eimear Bradley" Seems they play punk classics with a traditional twist. - Sounds like they'd go down as well as Nouvelle Vague did at least! ianmak
I caught the very end of the Infadels in '05, I think (or was it '04), inside, and they sounded good, the crowd were loving it, and I bought their album on the strength of that. Well recommended live.
