pepe2
..Thanks for the map!. One quick question... where abouts is the access into the campervan field?.. ...will we have to do a half circuit, anti-clockwise ,in order to gain access to it? (..as it appears we may do,judging by the arrows.. ) ..just thinking about the ground conditions under foot that's all!

gratedenini
Can someone give some scale to the Map please ie --it looks an awful long way to the actual fest from the Campervan area..of course depending on scale. And --- will we with MTF go in Campervan or family camping-- will we have a choice--- and why is there no H2O point in the campervan field.... The IS will not have tea made from the watter thats stored in the tanks of MTF see. Mind-- I`m sure I can suss this out when we get there--but now the map has been posted we may as well discuss it eh? Is the walk from the Campervan field to the fest over solid graound or tarmac--looks like turf to me? Where is the statue of Istabraq in relationship ship to the E Spot? den

marooned
Den, the Campervan Field is about 10 mins walk to either entrance - mostly over narrow tarmacced roads/paths. You cross the 'hallowed 'race-course' on that metal clip together stuff you find at most festivals. Security point is at the campsite end of this crossing point - so, that is where you should hide the 'lash' and the snake!. This experience is based on last years layout which looks (on the basis of the juvenile site plan) to be the same this year. HOWEVER, they have indicated that the Campervan Area will be BIGGER, so the 10 mins walk could be stretched if you end up at the far end (i.e. LATE)
donkeyboy
If you want a slightly less Noddy map, take a look at the Google maps image of Cheltenham Racecourse. Comparing the drawing to Google, camping etc seems to be from the bottom lefthand bend of the race course inwards with the camper vans etc up at the top of the picture. Gives a better sense of scale and location in any case. Dunk

donkeyboy
Can't really superimpose, as the Noddy map has got perspective where as Google Maps is flat. Just note where the Noddy map shows where the road is going to the car park. Then find the ONLY road on Google Maps that seems to head away from the racecourse to where cars are seen to be parked (i.e. a car park!). Then look at where the roads are on the Noddy map and you'll see similar shaped roads on Google. Anyway regardless of this, if you can see where the racecourse is itself (the big funny shaped course where the horses stumble round), then according to the Noddy map, all the camping is within the racecourse itself. It does require a bit of spatial gymnastics, but it all makes sense. Dunk
