Simoncelli would have been 30 today (yesterday now). I was in Holland when it happened - remember seeing the pictures on Dutch tv and fearing the worse but (being in a hotel bar) not hearing the commentary (and if I could have heard I wouldn't have understood).

Would love to have seen how his career would have developed.

Knew there was one on its way, haven't seen any winter news, can't wait for the 1st grid :)

Basically Vinales has been the fastest consistently, then Marquez, Dovi, Dani, Vale with Stoner testing very well on the Ducati. But not racing obviously.

Rossi is being very friendly to Vinales. Which won't last obviously!

:) I wonder if Stoner will race again, what he did on the Ducati was something amazing. Anyway can't wait.

Hes fairly adamant that he won't. Although I'm sure he could compete on either a Honda or a Ducati. Tested well on both this winter.

Don't know too much about the Moto 2 this season with Zarco Rins and Lowes making the move up. Will be interesting to see who rises to the top there.

Promising opener. Rossi and Dovi competitive, Vinales looks the real deal as does Zarco. Shame he came off.

Marquez and especially Jorge look like they're struggling though. Jorge went well wide on 2-3 occasions.

Cal had a bit of a shocker. Clipped Rossi at the start, crashed, rejoined and then crashed out again. Lucky not to be hurt. Poor tyre choice.

Business as usual, Rossi can't beat his younger team mate, Carl trying too hard and crashing, Zarco on an inferior bike pushing it further than it's capable of to try keep the lead, impressive tho :) & Jorge will have to count his bank balance every time he wonders why he left Yamaha! Vinales looks like the man unless Honda get's on the game. Good stuff, can't wait for the next one.

Jerez - Yamaha wooooot, embarrasing! Go go Pedrosa, didn't have much time for him before I watched those docs you pointed to a year or so back. Would love to see him come to the fore and grab something before he retires. Lorenzo, where did that come from. Apart from Honda, a strange race, tightened up at the top, all for the good of the amrchair fan :)

Doesn't sound like Nicky Hayden is too good after his accident :(

Shit! I just heard he got knocked down. Didn't know it was so serious. Lovely bloke. Gutted to hear that.

Amazing isn't it? 15 years of riding a motorbike about at 220mph and then he goes out for a leisurely cycle.......

John McGuinness a very lucky boy by all accounts at the North West 200. Lucky to get away with a broken back, ribs and leg.

Watched the highlights show yesterday. Irwin given his experience showed some mega balls to keep Seeley at bay, particularly given his form - 4 wins in a day!

Also fantastic to see Michael Rutter still competitive - can't remember how many years ago I first saw him at Brands but it was a long time!

RIP NH, very sad.

Rossi, wtf, watched it in Benidorm, got excited then................

McGuiness as much as you have to admire him maybe it's time he walked away. Must be IOM TT any day now, maybe I'll go next year with no Glastonbury to get in the way.

Michael Rutter I also remember from Brands so many years ago, I always think maybe it's his offspring that's racing these days :)
