Hi there fellow wheel and stick users..............

I know the straigtforward answer to this is "contact the office directly" but something tells me they might be a bit busy this time of year and I don't want to be seen as "nagging"

anyway - has anyone had a response back to either the PA or the Camping request forms as of yet, and if so how long did it take to get back to you with regards this matter..

nice and simple question ..... thank you all for your answers

I've been in touch with Claire (Disablement Officer) as I was getting a bit twitchy as to whether she had received my forms!!! Her response was very quick and she informed me that as far as she could tell my forms looked 'ok' and that everyone would be informed of decisions by late May :) Fingernails will be down to the bone by then - so hand on in there - hope this helps

Glad to help. Am keeping back PA ticket money just in case! Really, really hope the weather is good or at least reasonable this year as have found the last 3 Glastos really heavy going. Sure I was near to death last year on that awful trek out and hardly saw anything, but great people chair lifted me to see the Killers, and although I swore it was going to be my last Glasto, especially as it took me weeks to recover, here I am again, filled with excitement and anticipation. Bring it on! :)

Well thats the problem - if I don't get the "assistance" from GFL, then realistically I can't go.. as I have to pay for the PA to be there, plus pay for all of the camping gear for him, plus the hire of other things, the extra ticket will just make it far too expensive!

The only problem I have now (as they havent got back before the refund date) is that If they say no, I'll probably lose my ticket money....... and be grumpy all weekend of glastonbury :P

I think the chances of them saying "no" is so slim that the above is almost theoretical but its still a chance till i get the paperwork!

16 hours till i take up post-watching :)

Blimey - thats really cutting it fine and will my nerves take it I ask myself. I'm fortunate that my PA wants to go as much as me if not more, so has agreed to buy her own ticket if push comes to shove. Hopefully there won't be a problem as I'm sure we all have the proper paperwork and supporting eveidence etc, but I won't be happy until I have the tickets in my grubby mit!

Will let you know if I hear anything in the meatime and will try and look you guys up at Glasto. Look out for a white haired bag lady with eyerings, walking stick and decidedly gimpy walk!!!

I know its considered bad form to answer ones own post and question - however since other my be reading this thread, today I received a response from the festival with regards to the PA question and as part of the response it states that other decisions will be made in due course!

thank you once again for all of those who responded to my question.

  • 1 year later...

I didn't realise you found out so late if you could have a PA. This makes it impossible for disabled people to make other arrangements if they say no. I'd like to take my mother and father next year, and they would have to use the disabled campervan part - if they couldn't find out until days before the festival if they could do this or not I don't think they'd agree to come along.
