I've been solo in the past and had a great time. That said I could have done with someone to chat to in the mornings (going to bed/getting up)

Have also been solo as a volunteer which really resolved this issue for sure. Was overall a great experience.

I know @broken monkeyhas been solo and camped with people who are all solo attendees. He might have some details about that for anyone interested

The group I found are via Facebook and are a lovely bunch. Apparently were banned from being mentioned on here so I don’t want to break any rules by linking. Camped in Oxlyers which was a new experience for me.

Happy to share any info or answer questions.

Also back up with @Scrumpthat the Wednesday meetup was great fun and well worth attending finally.

  2. Posted this in the Blur thread:

Just to add more fuel to the fire... just received an email from the Blur mailing list mentioning 'their only U.S. live dates this year':

  3. To be fair, thought the Gold circle was tiny compared to other large shows I've attended - barely noticeable from where we stood and we were pretty close.

  4. Last night was genuinely one of the best gigs I’ve attended. Crowd and band were all on top form and Damon was really feeling the love. Tender with the choir was so powerful, a real goosebump moment. Brilliant set list and not a dull moment. If I didn’t have other life commitments, I’d be there again tonight. Those attending are in for a treat!

Would love them to headline Glasto next year but I get the idea they may feel they had that moment now.

  5. 2 females, aged around 19/20 walk up to the campsite stewards on Sunday afternoon and asked where they can find the Pyramid stage. When the guy noted it was the pointy stage in the distance, one answered saying they thought ‘it was bigger than that’.

  6. I do think this massively helped reduce any dangerous crushes this year. It also meant there was gaureented space to move to if in need of a sit down, without annoying people who wanted to watch an act in the main field.

  7. One year (2002 if I recall) a friend of a friend took his beaten up old banger, which had doors that wouldn't lock. As a security measure, he removed the steering wheel and left it in his tent. Of course on the first night, his tent was broken in and all his weed, beer and said steering wheel was stolen.

Think he ended up leaving the car there and getting a train home.

I'm so glad they were able to go - I love their videos. I just really hope they have taken on board the leave no trace ethos of Glastonbury, I don't want them getting any criticism. Very keen to see what they make of Glastonbury - and given their experience, if they truly think it is the greatest festival in the world. I've got a feeling they will love it, but the busy crowds might have taken away from the experience a little. I hope not though!

Does anybody know who was there from TPD?

I'm pretty sure they will, they've been much more clued up on not littering or leaving items behind in their last few videos. Rob even had a poll up on his personal insta regarding where to pee (options were 'On the land' / 'Leave no trace') which marked as wrong if you chose the former.

Also, when I was talking to Danny, Rob came back from the bar and said he'd just talked to the nicest barman ever. Was raving about how friendly everyone was.

I'm pretty sure they've caught the Glasto bug and realise it's on a different level to what they've experienced before. Very much looking forward to the vlog!

Love them, and had a weird feeling they would be there this year (after years of trying) but didn’t bump into them.

They’re going to love being able to carry their booze everywhere and stay out until gone 6am… Can’t wait to see their vlog.

I'm pretty sure they ended up going back to bed after each headliner, but I know they did tonnes during the day. I heard that Rob ended up blacking out at one point due to heat, drink and exhaustion.

  10. Bumped into the guys befor CRJ near the Other stage on Thursday. Spoke to Danny for quite a bit and they were having a great time. Think the festival has definitely broken them a bit, pretty sure they're not used to anything on this scale. Looking forward to the vid, they reckon it'll be their longest yet at 2hrs.

  11. I managed to stack it carry my gear in just aftert the rain on Wednesday. Not the best start to 5 days without the use of a shower. Was praying for rain shower just for a wash!

Weather was a little too hot at times, especially without the shade but I still prefered it to rain and being cold. As someone mentioned above, never wore any of my long sleeved clothes or warm gear, which annoyingly were the heaviest items I carried in. Only the period waiting for Elton did I ever feel anything like being cold.

9/10 year for me weather wise.

Could still come up on iplayer but its a damn shame there isnt even a clip of a song on youtube. Maybe they didnt want their set shown because its essentially their future debut album? Theyve got another single coming out at least.

That's very true. It's very rare to have an act play a main stage who have yet to release anything more than 1 track. Very much live up to the hype though, great things to come from TLDP!

  13. Drove straight out of Pink at 6am but no idea what it’s like now. Does seem that more people stayed overnight for the Sunday than usual, there was noticeably less empty campsite spaces on the walk to the car this morning.
