would be very much for it. Believe he always feels his set in 2009 was a bit of a disappointment. At 74, would he really be able to get to/from Belgium and play two days in a row? Sadly, based in the most recent tour, I really cannot see it.

Other Stage Headliner seems just about perfect for her.

Scored some major Glastonbury kudos this afternoon (I hope!). In and out in 10 mins for Friday TS. Concert in Liverpool for my partner & my sister. £125 tickets, I was happy, they were less so at the price!
  4. Thanks for info @incident @henry bear & @northernangel always good to know what they’re working with. I know the pull of Glastonbury isn’t always for everyone, but I always think when you see people like Stones, McCartney, Elton John, Diana Ross, you’d always want a piece of it. Definitely boss on my behalf.
  5. Curious, why would Madonna say “No”? I genuinely don’t know, just curious. I feel it it would be a perfect time for Madonna, as I don’t think her stock is very high at the moment, is it? Bring a big show, and with the National and Global reaction (if positive) would be massive for her.

I think that's what I mean. I don't think they get the love they deserve in the UK. I'm not a massive fan, but they're very, very good, and I appreciate their music. I just don't think they're hugely popular in the UK, does Glastonbury have that lure for them? That would be the big stumbling block for me. As you've said, they also don't mould their set to festival crowds, so would it just flop?

We're always guilty though, aren't we? You won't always get the massive acts like Elton John and Macca. It's never been my main goal the headliners, I think I've seen on average 1 headliner per festival. There is so much going on you don't need to. As you say, if we have a bit of a downpeak in terms of "quality" (I use that subjectively - as still big names). Then it may make ticket day a little easier.

Funny Band Depeche Mode. Feel they're absolutely massive everywhere outside the UK, but not massive in the UK. I'm fully aware they've just played to a sold out show at Twickenham, but they're doing multiple dates across some countries in Europe. Would not be against them headlining, just always surprises me when a British bands don't get local hype but do get continental/world wide hype.

The Betting Odds always remind me of when Neil dropped the Kasabian Headline news whilst a certain reputable bookmaker still had them at like 16/1. I think a fair few off this forum obtained some additional spending money that year. Long story short, the bookmakers don't really know about Glastonbury, and have been long time lurkers (or certainly in the past) to try and get their odds.

Quite happy with this news. Selfishly means that it won’t have thousands of Swift fans booking on, knowing she won’t be at Glastonbury 2024. Sorry if bad news for some!

sadly, that’s exactly what’s happening. The only way we can rule out TS, is if she adds a date to block her off. Then the rest is just guesswork, but it will be repetitive, but I guess that all adds to the excitement.

Maybe it’s just me, but I find that Dua Lipa is in that period Biffy Clyro were in about 9-10years ago. Took a bad album for them drop to the sub slot. Too big to be sub for the other, too big for the other, but not quite big enough to headline. A great talent, who I enjoy listening to, but feels maybe too much too soon? Where BC failed I think she will ultimately headline Glastonbury, but just feels a bit too early.
  13. I wasn't there, but had to turn Radio X off whilst driving over the weekend. It was smarmy beyond belief, i reckon in 30 minutes, they mentioned the flags at least 3-4 times. Wouldn't surprise me if Radio X got a set of tickets, and gave them to crew with the caveat that the carry a flag round all weekend. Saw lots and lots of advertising flags all over on the TV. If there's ever a reason to ban flags, that would be it!

Very condescending towards “nerds”. Dont you think?
  15. This. It's exciting seeing the flags and adds to the aura of the occasion. What doesn't is Radio X all standing in a line and spoiling everyone's view, and for what? Absolute nonsense.
