I did a sprint interval session on the bike last night. My fitness generally is much better, but my leg strength has dropped off a cliff following the enforced absence at the start of the year. Need to get my "zip" back. It was agonising and I nearly collapsed when I got up this morning! First time the worst time as they say.... Oh, and the 27 degree heat at 7:30pm was insane.

Good plan. I'd advocate this to anyone buying boots at short notice. I got some DM's earlier this year off Vinted and they had been softened up nicely by the (undoubtedly crippled) Gent I bought them off.

Justcalled may be right here - the current best guess (and it is still a guess at this stage) is that any mud will be shallow and short lived, so boots likely to be fine. I like Hi-Tec hiking boots, but I've got stupid wide Hobbit feet. The problem is you may need to break them in and with only a week to the festival, that means probably wearing them every day and if they rub, you start G with blisters = bad move. Don't know your budget, but I have a pair of Muckboots which I've had now about 8 years. They are wellies, but have cushioned soles and the upper is neoprene, not rubber. Mine were comfy from day one and I walk miles in them every winter/occasionally at Glasto when required.

I have 2 questions. What were you on and where can I get it? Mate, Cee Lo was f**king torrential and swirling gusts of wind! I had a knee length poncho on and wellies and the rain managed to wet the arse of my shorts with it getting blown around.

Realise it's still TOO EARLY, however I'm taking heart from the fact that both models are trending towards little or no heavy rain as we get closer. I'd stick my neck out to say that chances of a mudbath are looking slimmer every day. This makes me a happy Monkey.

Dry/Warm - short sleeved shirts/Band T-Shirts, combat shorts, memory foam Puma trainers, straw fedora. Colder/dry - same but with a hoodie or checked lumberjack shirt on top. Wet - Muckboots, long socks, same shorts/tops and a waterproof jacket on top with a baseball cap (to keep rain out of my eyes).
