  1. I’m too sick and distracted with excitement to concentrate on anything except glasto cam and the weather thread
  2. If the rain is moving from the west, it’s very drizzly in ireland right now. Warm but damp. Still light clothes but one of those light plastic ponchos would do the job and the ground here is hard still and we had rain 3 days ago… so basically if it’s this sort of rain we will be grand.
  3. I remember walking past the pyramid after watching gossip at john peel and everyone who had watched the who had just a sand ones their stuff like the Marie Celeste. A guy was giving away hot pear juice that we (7 of us) mixed with our rum. We just had wee Lycra bodysuits and rain macs but it was so sweaty in gossip we didn’t notice the cold so now we were freezing but we made it round to the naughty corner and had a good old dance until about 2 am. It was tonight but it was character building!
  4. Yeah the other stage was pretty much still a quagmire
  5. 2005 was the flash flood and I still went back, by Sunday the mud was as high as your waist in some places but sticky. 2007 was hard but ways to alleviate the difficulties of nowhere to sit are having seats back the tents under shelter. Both of those times the weather didn’t fully predict and both of those times the people without wellies were scuppered. a peaked cap 🧢 is great under a poncho in the rain to stop the dripping on to you your face and to enable you to look up and see the bands!
  6. Just never ever already own a pair of wellies and leave them in the shed instead of bringing them. Tempting Fate.
  7. Reassured! 😅 Someone else said spitting. I can handle that, as an irish contingent we will be used to it even!
  8. I’ve expanded the hourly forecast for Thursday and it looks like our first performance will be in rain 😭😭😭😭😭 what does 0.4/0.5mm mean to a layperson?
  9. That’s what my friend said the year of the flash flood. And the ground had been bone dry for weeks. It didn’t even rain that long but it all came down at once. Why risk it? Wellies with decent socks are grand as long as you air your toes every so often 💭
  10. That’s always risky - I’ve been 11 times and only once could you have gotten away with trainers all weekend
  11. The year of the flash flood on v early Friday morning it had been bone dry and glorious in England for 2 weeks. Loads of people didn’t bring wellies yet most of the food trucks don lorries and some of the stages were only possible with them. My friend who we’d told to bring wellies didn’t believe us in the blistering sun the week before we’d need em and so she didn’t buy any. After the flash flood, wellies sold out at triple prices everywhere- she wore plastic bags in her trainers and was uncomfortable the whole time slipping inside her shoes and getting foot rot! wellies sandals walking boots I doubt I’ve been the most in here but this will be my 12th Glastonbury and for the love of eavis, bring wellies.
  12. Eeek why is metcheck so wet for Friday???
  13. Pack for any weather, layers you can add or take away with glitter and sequins on top!!
