  1. If one person in the group is international but everyone else is uk based, what payment method do we use?!
  2. Got 1x ticket from Sheffield for me, but 0/4 of the London crew. Got through twice on my phone over 4g, not a sniff over wifi. Fingers crossed for Sunday - I'm too old for solo Glasto, need to get these guys their tickets!
  3. Or get the tram back into the centre from right outside the venue There's a Holiday Inn between the city centre and the train station, but agree that there isn't a great amount at the budget end

    Foo Fighters

http://www.fooarchive.com/features/rhythm2021.htm this article with Rufus is quite the read given this evening
  5. After having kids Glastonbury has been my one escape that's just for me (the Mrs has been a couple times, both muddy and generally finds it too big and scary!), I've massively reduced the amount of football (on which note, @gooner1990, assume you're one and the same from the old AWIMB??), rugby, gigs, comedy I go to. G is for me, and a chance to reconnect with my people. That said, a combination of bringing COVID home from the festival this year and infecting the whole family (that went down about as well as a bucket of sick) and the cost of everything impacting on my ability to put away £100 a month JUST for G (ticket+coach+any replacement camping gear+sundries+spendies gets close to a grand even before the likely ticket increase) is making next year look a bit tricky. I took more food and booze last year to try and reduce the cost, but the weight of carrying that from Ped-A damned near finished me off before the festival had even started (well into my 40s now...).
  6. Phoebe Bridgers last night in Manchester, took my 8yo for her first ever "proper gig"-gig. I found it incredibly emotional to be honest! Sharing live music with people you love really is the best.

    Neil Young 2023

That Leeds gig with Promise of the Real was incredible. I went with a seasoned Neil watcher who said it was the most fun he'd seen NY having in years. Was distinctly better than the 2013 Crazy Horse gig at the O2 (tho the venue may have been part of the problem, as well as sitting near some people who racially abused the bar staff...) I also watched Ray Davies in 09 and now regret it. Would love to see him back on the farm but it's headline or nothing for me- the sub spot is hard to nail when the pit is half full of people just getting a spot for the headliner, and there aren't that many people who he has cross over appeal to that might play... Would a top two of Neil Young into Pearl Jam work? (I'd personally have NY top the bill, just trying to think of fanbases that would respect both....)
  8. To my tastes/ rapidly declining knowledge of the scene (an expected outcome with 2 young kids) this year had more big names and fewer esoteric choices than in 2019. The area also felt smaller (was it?!)... But there's every chance that the bookers just played into my dwindling, limited hands and it was nothing but a stroke of good luck on my part!
  9. If I'm after audio only of a few sets, is there a (simple?) way to get those?
  10. I was desperate for a recording of the Hessel Audio takeover in 2019 but never managed to find one 😔
  11. Each to their own I guess - the Saturday night on Iicon (Floating Points and then Joy O) was some of the best after hours dancing I've had on the farm in 11 visits!
  12. I got an email saying all tickets were now electronic and and that all paper tickets have been cancelled (I've got seating for the same night, taking my daughter to her first ever gig!), with another email attaching the tickets (from Ticketmaster I think as opposed to See etc)
  13. Didn't test +ve til Thursday, and even then only a thin line. Has ramped up steadily since tho the cough has now subsided... But today's test is the thickest reddest line I've seen across the whole last 2 years. Don't think I'll be back in the office for a few days yet!
  14. I assumed the rules were relaxed this year to allow for those whose kids were u12 when they bought the ticket in 2019, but were now "too old" to get in. Would make sense for that to then be tightened up for the next non-Covid-delayed festival
  15. South park was MUCH more busy by evening weds than in the last couple fests (it's our usual spot, was very noticeable)
  16. Bonobo. Just really soulless and dull.
  17. 197,830 weds to monday. Sunday alone was 51,000 (I assume because a lot of dancing was done!).
  18. PK Spice, the Jamaican place near Williams Green for the jerk and rice- amazing food, great value Didn't have anything bad really, tho missed Manic Organic and Mama Falafel on the way into WH this year- they're my go to! Thought there was a LOT of cheese based food options this year, presumably at some dairy farmer's behest (I kid)
  19. Little Simz Floating Points Kendrick (Special mentions for Macca, Self Esteem and Little Dragon)
  20. I found it all ok this year to be honest, bit of forward planning and avoiding likely pinch points worked out fine. That said, I only saw 4-5 acts a day and took it pretty easy. Macca and DiRo crowds were fine once you made your way in a bit, and had no issues in SEC post-2am. I remain dumfounded by the logistics and level of organisation to create a world for us for 5 days! It ain't a purpose built site, it's a farm in the English countryside- it's damned incredible to me
  21. Ah, the old crowd crust rearing it's ugly head again
  22. I'm sure someone posted about being able to order birthday cakes from the bakery up by acoustic... All intel and info v gratefully received!
  23. I'm sure I've seen others mention that the bakery up by acoustic does birthday cakes- does anyone know from personal experience if that's correct, and how I might be able to pre-order one? It was meant to be my best buddy's 40th at G2020, but a 42nd cake will do...
  24. You're aware of sods law, right? Get em bought
