  1. I don't have a ticket this year, so it is with some relief that I realise I really don't seem to have any must-sees which I am missing out on. Little Simz is the closest, but I saw her in 2022. I'd still rather be there than not, and will be trying in the resale, but the lineup is more "I'd watch them if I'm there" than anything else.
  2. Technically this counts as a ticket competition, I think. Tough to win though...
  3. At least it's good cheese, I suppose.
  4. What are the odds like for this competition? The Co-op website says there are 2,500 stores, so if there were (for example) 30 eligible transactions per store then that would be 75,000 total entries. Judging by my local store, there didn't seem much interest here. The shelf was full, there wasn't any mention of the contest in-store, and the first pack I bought had a shelf life of just over a month. The lack of publicity and short competition span may mean fewer people entered and increase our chances as a result.
  5. Typically the server is so overloaded at 9am that people can't even get redirected from the main page (glastonbury.seetickets.com) to the event holding page immediately. If you are able to go straight to the event page, that might slightly increase your chances of getting in early. Or, at least, that's the theory.
  6. Two of my four screens are still on the autorefresh holding page. I don't know if that means something has gone wrong somewhere, but I keep refreshing one of the browsers which isn't on the off chance a ticket is still out there...
  7. As far as I can gather, there is no 'queue' (unlike a Ticketmaster-style sale where it says "You are 40,343 in line", for example. Instead, whenever a slot on the sale server opens up the next person to load the page is allowed in. If that is the case, then you chances of being that person are increased if you are loading the page more frequently. There certainly doesn't seem to be any negative consequences to refreshing. It's worked for me in all but one Glastonbury.
  8. That might be the reason it's two weeks, to give people time to make sure they're available during the sales.
  9. Tonight's Transgressive Takeover at the Rabbit Hole:
  10. That was predictable. I didn't even try, they just moved the problem from Williams Green to another small venue. The solution is more popular acts on Thursday evening, cutting one just causes everyone to go to the next best one.

  12. Usually the issue with heat in England is the humidity. If the amount of evaporated water in the air is high enough, your sweat can't evaporate (or at least not as quickly) which means that you become both warmer and sweaty. In the deserts of America or Australia, there is likely to be very low humidity. On a West country dairy farm situated next to a river, be prepared to feel incredibly sweaty. There's not really anything you can do about the humidity, so I think the key is to cool down yourself. Find shade, drink cool drinks, and obviously invest in a Fresh & Black tent.
  13. Not sure I'll bother trying to see Example, if 17% of the people on site on Thursday night are going to try and fit in the Glade. I suspect the issue with William's Green on Thursday night has just moved somewhere else.
  14. Some announcements which aren't on the official lineup page: Greenpeace's Wednesday cabaret lineup (in alphabetical order): The Mandala Stage's Wednesday schedule: Donna Thompson is performing at the Crow's Nest on Friday: https://www.facebook.com/donnaT123/posts/pfbid02mNGLbq7Vgg46RmTbEbMtJsh8yrjkQNv98ykbdTJdgkg2BPNiPhYUyEeaKw9dhFzRl
  15. Maybe not the 'best' but, seeing as this is the bargains thread, work socks with thick soles do the job well enough and are typically a lot cheaper than socks made specifically for walking.

    The churnups

I honestly don't know where I stand with The Churnups (presumably) being the Foo Fighters. My plan was to watch most of the Courteeners (I know it's not for everyone, but clashes have meant I've skipped them every other time they've played) followed by Joey Bada$$. Going to the Foo Fighters would mean missing both. I would guess that I'll have other opportunities to see the Courteeners play, which is why I have always skipped them before, but rappers like Joey Bada$$ tend not to do Glastonbury more than once. On the other hand, I do like the Foos and there's definitely a possibility that a mid-card appearance will be a once in a lifetime performance in a different way. Maybe some guest stars, maybe some unique covers, maybe the only time they have this particular lineup. As is often the way with clashes, I almost wish Glastonbury's lineup was less strong so that there were fewer choices like this.

    CMAT

I think so. Apart from anything else, the early timeslot means it's not clashing with anyone for me. I had already bought a couple of their songs before they were announced too.
  18. Just refreshed the lineup and I was wrong. Ignore me...

    The churnups

Anyone guessed The Wurzels yet? Given their farming connections, surely they have a churn or two laying around...
  20. Alvvays are signed to Transgressive Records, who have a number of anonymous slots at the Rabbit Hole as part of a 'Transgressive Takeover'. That said, I suspect they're too big for that slot.
  21. The full clashfinder is now up: https://clashfinder.com/s/g2023/ @Al2006
  22. Generally halvin, I think the person who runs clashfinder.com, does a full import of the timings from the official page the same day. Last year's full clashfinder was done at 6.28pm when the lineup was posted at 10.55am.
  23. In a word: no. I have a phone with a claimed battery capacity of 4000mAh and a new Anker power bank with a claimed capacity of 20,000mAh. I have tested it by using it to charge my phone exclusively whilst keeping a note of my battery levels before and after. The result was that it charged my phone 3.8x, or had an effective capacity of 15,200mAh. Therefore, I'd expect a 10,000mAh power bank to be closer to 7,500mAh in real life. No transfer of energy is entirely efficient, so some losses occur between the two batteries. I also once had a cheap power bank which basically kept charging regardless of whether the device was fully charged, wasting power as a result. The best advice I could give is that it doesn't hurt to go overboard in terms of power. I take 2 20,000mAh power banks to be on the safe side. Also, bring a spare cable. Mine was damaged last year so I had a hard time using the excess of power I had.
