  1. Best food of the weekend!

    Guns n Roses

I lasted an hour before hotfooting it to Lana. They’re not my bag but I do think that the patter about Axl’s pipes are over the top, the high parts are mostly out of reach but he still sounded good to me.
  3. My point was around women in music who reach a certain age and are told to pack it in, while blokes get a free pass.
  4. Mad how it’s only old ladies who are told to pack it in. Never he anyone say the same about Dylan, Young etc
  5. Lizzo made a similar point and thanked the crowd for their time. When someone thinks that their time is more important to them than yours is to you…. f**k em!
  6. Would make sense, Norman doesn’t need much of a shift in gear?
  7. 6k for Funkingham Palace? Is that not Stonebridge? I’ve not been in FP so cannot say but seems a stretch
  8. My mate reckons Bruce does the lights thing for his encore every night - cannot remember that happening at any the others I’d been to mind
  9. . Floodlights only went on for the encore, something I’ve never seen before. I’ve watched bands put them on for one song but never a sustained period. I quite enjoyed it, we were a lot louder with the lights on

  11. How is 22 not tee and shorts weather? How cold do you lot actually get down there?
  12. I keep getting goosebumps when I think back to last night. Bruce and the band were phenomenal - such a brilliant show. Was impressed how quiet the crowd would be when he was doing his solo parts. Villa Park was the pits for a venue mind. Terribly organised.
  13. Newton Faulkner at Other in 08. Still cannot fathom how it was so busy for him. Probably the biggest crowd I’ve seen there
  14. Must have missed it last year. Not massive on eggs but if they do kottu I’ll be straight over, that stuff is perfect for a hangover
  15. Slightly off topic but not worth of a new thread. As we’re camping by the co op this year I’m going to stock up on more cans that I can keep cold with bags of ice. Does anyone recommend a suitable receptacle for storing cans and ice in all day that isn’t gonna soak you? Don’t fancy lugging a box around but using the tote is going to be a right damp affair!
  16. Dosas for breakfast never disappoint but the place that does them is rarely open before 12. Probably skip breakfast and have an early dinner (2nd meal of the day, you southern lot) to avoid queues at the decent places.
  17. Anyone want to give average walking times to the main stages? Camped in South Park in 08 but haven’t been this side of the site for a long time. Ten minutes to the park feasible without crowds? Expecting pyramid to be a 30 min yomp
  18. We’re there this year. Took the plunge and looking forward to a change. Sure it’ll be sound.
  19. Dont think I visted Arcadia last year but I alway had problems with the poor sound quality unless you're under the spider - thats good news.
  20. Everything is going to be heaving. You've got 95% of the site there with no entertainment on the ten biggest stages. Just playing it by ear rather than chasing acts and ending up disappointed this year. Top of the hill is always a highlight.
  21. Having one of SEB, Texas, Blondie and Rick Astley would be fair enough - but having all stinks of either a lack of funds or lack of availability to book. It’s always been ‘pop’ but it’s proper Radio 2 this year. Just seems weak. We say they’re running out of headliners but that’s a poor main stage lineup.
  22. Niche request. Anyone that has 4 seats for Fender at St James that wants to swap for standing, dm me. Want to take the sprig but 14 and over on the pitch.

    The Park 2023

Hopefully they can sort the Stonebridge/Park bleed this year.
  24. There’s about a dozen acts I missed last year that I’d prioritise over this year. With the usual horses for courses caveat, it’s definitely the weakest for my tastes since I started going. Keep hoping the next announcement pulls it out the bag, and keep being disappointed. Is it taste? Is it festival-lethargy? Or is it objectively poor with too many safe bookings and repeats? Who knows!
