While far from top shelf, it ain’t half as bad as some of you are making out.
Gutted I’m not going to be there. And there’s at least 4 x acts per day that I’d love to see.
Plenty of chaff as usual, and the older lot have seen a lot before - but that ain’t the festivals fault.

Loved CTRL and she’s clearly a big deal but I remain to be convinced she’s got the chops for a headliner spot. Seen her sub at coachella in 18 and left nonplussed.
The live show that’s on Apple Music at the moment is very autotune heavy. Her recent shows were very production heavy so it’ll be interesting to see if she tries it like LDR attempted last year.
Drew Barrymore is a stone called tune mind!

For me, they barely put a foot wrong for their first three. Quickly went south after.
Knocked Up is an absolute banger.

I’ll concede I Am Easy To Find was a little weak in comparison to the rest of their output, there were too many collabs for my liking. We still got Rylan, Light Years and Hey Rosey from it, but not much else on there that will stand the test of time
Where is her Head was the best song on the album and an absolute beast live.

Went to see GZA last week at Project House in Leeds.
Came on an hour late and I thought the sound was really bad, I had to put some earplugs in. He was totally drowned out by having a full band on stage. Would have preferred it if it was him, another rapper and a DJ. We ended up leaving after about 30 minutes.
I missed Newcastle but my mates review was practically verbatim other than the earplugs. On late, awful sound, left early!
Other than the pyramid slot with RZA in 2011, I’ve not been to a wu tang / solo show where they haven’t phoned it in.

New Lemon Twigs as well
This is ace. They're so obvious in who they pastiche but it works a treat. Hope they're touring over here this year.

Not convinced that the closer you are, the better the experience. I was miles away for blur and it was still the best show ive ever seen.

I thought they’d managed to stop the multiple buying. Recall it being a real problem in 2011 with people just using the back button to get piles and piles. Fair enough if people are getting lucky again but if it’s allowing multiple purchases that’s a bummer.
-
Tell you what though, I'll never understand those who are on here at 9:05 complaining that they cannot get through. If you're not putting the graft in, dont be surprised if you dont come out with tickets on the other side.

29/51 we had a few that got kicked out at payment page that would have bumped that up a bit. We've benefitted last year from peoples similar misfortune when we got them after the sold out sign was up.
Disappointed but philosophical.

29/51 this year, but I wasn't part of the lucky bunch. Hard to bare at the moment but hey ho, having had 100% success since 2008 it had to come to an end at some point.
+1 for the postcode issue, there's a rabbit off somewhere with one of their databases!

Forgotten to get my coffee out of my lucky efestivals mug. Gonna have to have a second cup now!

It’s not even Damon’s best album from this year

Andre 3000 has announced his first solo album and first recorded album in 17 years out on Friday and it’s an album almost entirely of flutes and this is the tracklist:
- I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A "Rap" Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time
- The Slang Word P(*)ssy Rolls Off The Tongue With Far Better Ease Than The Proper Word Vagina . Do You Agree?
- That Night In Hawaii When I Turned Into A Panther And Started Making These Low Register Purring Tones That I Couldn't Control ... Sh¥t Was Wild
- BuyPoloDisorder's Daughter Wears A 3000™ Button Down Embroidered
- Ninety Three 'Til Infinity And Beyoncé
- Ghandi, Dalai Lama, Your Lord & Savior J.C. / Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, And John Wayne Gacy
- Ants To You, Gods To Who ?
- Dreams Once Buried Beneath The Dungeon Floor Slowly Sprout Into Undying Gardens
he doesn’t seem to be the joking type so I guess this is gonna be it.
f**ker has consistently nailed practically each feature he’s done since he left outkast. I gave up on a solo album years ago, now he trolls us with a load of flutes?

Must have heard A Hard Days Night a thousand times but only today did I realise their was bongos on it.
Bot hit and miss for me. Red Album and Magical Mystery Tour are ace. Walrus and Bulldog not so much.

I'm asssuming I'm not the only one to use Twickets and have the app completely freeze whenever you click on an Alert you have set up, don't suppose anyones found a fix? I emailed them and got a 'we're aware of it' but remember getting the same years ago so clearly isn't a priority.
Trying to get 2 standing tickets for QOTSA in Birmingham later this month for my Dad and it's proving to be an absolute nightmare. Viagogo are offering them at a very reasonable £145 each currently... so any recommendations would also be very welcome 😂
I always try and have a web browser open with the account setup of its days leading up to a popular gig. Assuming not all push notifications are the same it’s still a lottery but I’ve had success in the past

There was a standard presale for SoL which was easy enough to source what was required.
How much were golden circle?
Felt distinctly uneasy pressing the button on those tickets this morning. Inflation busting raise from last year for both ticket and fees, cannot just blame the promoter.
As long as we keep stumping up they’ll keep hiking up.

£110 for back of the pitch at Villa this year for comparison

Though saying that, is that Werchter date a festival?
-
Whilst I’d take it in a heartbeat I still think he’s one and done.
Good news with Sunderland though

Anything in Scotland?
The rumoured venues I saw last month didn’t go further north than Sunderland. Whether they’re s as accurate is anyone’s guess!

System probably the closest to a crossover for me. And LCD headlined Other - probably equal in the minimal extent of a ‘casual’.
