  1. Holy sh*t. I feel like I was slightly cheated on now with night one. Kicking myself I didn't go to both 😞 I would have been in tears with this set list. How many bands do you know can change up a set list mid tour so many times and absolutely smash it. Incredible stuff.

  2. So absolutely gutted not to be going again tonight. Was a great set list but so many tracks I was waiting to hear and tonight will probably get them. What a treat for anyone going.

  3. Absolutely cracking album. Turn off the house is my fave so far but many others could take that title.

In such quick concession you might think it would hashed together or sound like b-sides but wow, the quality in the production and songwriting. I love it.

  4. Agreed about M83's placement. The Blaze killed it, along with AF. The band definitely didn't look like one about to call it a day.

The dust was something else though. Only just got over my Glastonbury illness from the dust, so it'll be a miracle if I come away scott free here as it was unbearable near the front for Foals and AF.

Nice to not have to queue for beers (although not sure what it is with lots of European places not serving full sized pints), but the toilets were really bad with waiting, definitely need to have more + urinals, and some situated near the mainstage.

Sound was decent for the most part. Food choices not the best. €5 for the worlds smallest portion of fries.

Would I return? Probably if the line-up was decent.

  5. It's criminal the silent discos were removed and never returned to be honest. Used to draw a big crowd in Silver Hayes until the early hours helping with crowding in the SE corner.

Not sure where it would go now though as the levels doesn't feel right for it. Possible Woodsies after the bands?

Who is "the trader"? And what was the song played 8 times? Genuine queries, not taking the piss! Agreed that music post midnight gets bizarrely homogenised.

Benga + Coki - Night and Shy Fx Balaclava constantly being played. Could even hear them back at camp until the early hours.

I obviously don't know who the trader is.

  7. Another one for the lack of nighttime music that wasn’t drum and bass. We went to taphouse one night but other than that the only indie night was a 1 hour set by baggy Mondays (they have a 4 hour 11-3am set at Kendal calling so why do they only do an hour in the afternoon here). Why can’t they bring back silent disco for a weds/thur night to ease some of the crowds. I heard one same song about 8 times over the weekend spun by different DJ’s of the same genre.

There seemed to be a distinct lack of ‘glasto moments’ for me this year too. Like the little quirks that made it special. I always remember there would be like the phones that would ring and other cool things like that. San Reno area just looks like a desert wasteland.

People breaking in. I think most of the overcrowding is because of this. Saw at least 3-4 scouse groups. All with loads of hair bangles on their arms to disguise. One group of girls were saying how the trader is getting coach loads of people in for £500 and he was doing it all weekend up to Sunday. It’s beyond now. Why can’t they put in some barriers like the south east corner entrance across the main walkways from campsites/main pathways to check wristbands.

some of the new layout and paths with no cut throughs were terrible. Big green fences. Felt like a maze walking around towards gate A.

  8. Been to the last 7 and never come home ill so it was only a matter of time.

never been this ill before, I think it’s the dust. Not sure what to do but coughing my lungs up to a scary point. Haven’t been able to eat anything since getting home thanks to nausea. Muscles aching like crazy and sweating.

tested and negative. I think it’s the dust inhalation. I can’t seem to cough nothing up though 😩

  9. Not sure why they’re getting such negative press. Really enjoyed.

he never really talks loads or does special guests so not sure what people were expecting. Nice for them to be playing some older songs again on this tour.

there’s worse bands for lack of interaction

  10. Hate to be that guy but the relentless heat Friday and Saturday almost finished me off. Ruins it for as I don’t like drinking in the scorching heat coupled with walking loads. Was sweating just sat in the camping chair not moving. Spent most of the weekend sat down in the very minimal cramped shade.

Sunday was an absolute dream. Restored every negative thought I was having. Perfect conditions albeit a little windy.

  11. Some of the planning is still way off. Especially Shangri-La. Mike skinner playing Nowhere. We gave up halfway it was gridlock. Not a steward in sight.

why do they keep putting artists on small stages and leaving the larger ones empty on Weds/Thurs.

got almost crushed trying to get to the toilets when Skindred was on. Absolutely manic. To the point it’s becoming no longer enjoyable, and quite unsafe on times.

You can’t get anywhere remotely near stages anymore on the early days and it just becomes pointless as you can’t hear the music just people chatting.

was never like this a few years ago. It’s always been busy but it’s becoming unmanageable. I’m shocked there’s no large scale accidents yet.

Very late decision made last night at the crew campsite security briefing. They even have all the bins set up as normal for camping but it's health and safety first apparently

Some of the decisions based on this year's map don't make sense to me with H&S though like the path from PGA where I would normally turn right and go down the hill as would most others, is now only as far as Pylon ground which is shut off for staff camping so everyone's just going to be bottle necked in and turning back/cutting across the field and going against the flow of traffic. Fine when it's quiet but seems mad to get rid of the logical path that was straight through.

Can agree with this one though if they're expecting big crowds for Elton.

Is it just me that thinks Rick Astley doing a secret set on top of his already 'surprise' addition on the lineup is deeply underwhelming?

But then I feel the same about churnups being Foos, who literally headlined 3 fests ago and 2 before that.

  14. Last night was horrific. Woke up 4am so confused to the sound of torrential rain.

Rather this morning than tomorrow though. Considering how dry the run up has been, it had to break at some point so probably the best time for it. Phew.

  15. Would be happy with Pulp as recently saw AM but as someone who's not a Foo's fan them stepping in would be horrible for me. Crossing everything Alex can make the show or it's Pulp or anyone besides just stepping up Foos 😂

  16. Went in to GoOutdoors today to get a rain mac and came out with a coolbox. Selling Coleman ones for £63 and the gf had an extra 10% off with the bluelight card. Apparently keeps ice cold for 3 days. We'll see. Will be better than the coolbag I used last year which didn't last a few hours.

I normally used a collapsible wash bowl filled with cold water and ice cubes. Did the job fine.

  17. Honestly can't get my head around the planning this year. Considering how close Jarvis is with the family and has been at the festival every year in some form, thought this year would guaranteed. Maybe it was the band's decision 🤷‍♂️

I've got tickets to Cardiff so suppose it gives me something to look forward to post glasto but gutted we won't be seeing them in a field.
