Glad I'm doing Truck this year. Line up looks fairly average at Glastonbury

Interesting take on things in the Telegraph https://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/artists/glastonbury-2024-lineup-dua-lipa-too-pop/

Saw Vistas and Overpass at the Old Fire Station in Bournemouth last Friday. Cracking night

Pretty grim mud levels I thought. Up there with Glasto 97 in my experience. The rain was relentless most evenings and overnight. Site was very quiet Sunday night for Grace Jones and again another deluge. However, some great sets amongst the carnage. Really enjoyed CMAT, Django Django, Sorry, Pavement, Dry Cleaning, Young Fathers, Leftfield, Teleman. Some of the science talks were great too. We were in Boutique camping this year, but the mud levels were awful there too. I think some blame can be layed at the organizers door though. The forecast was dire beforehand and there should have been much more foresight and preparation for that. Most measures seemed reactive rather than proactive and all the areas around the toilets particularly were a disgrace. They need to learn some serious lessons from how Glastonbury manage mud years

Forecast isn't great is it? Let's hope we get some dry spells at least. See you all there. Enjoy

Excellent - I'll probably wait until Tuesday or Wednesday anyway to print - travelling up on Thursday
-
Thanks Memory Man - excellent job. I'll be using this rather than the dark blue thingy on the Bluedot site. Any more tweeks or does it all tie up?
-
Turned up this morning - so all good
-
Haven't got ours yet - should I be worried?

Depends what you're after tbh. The dance stuff goes on in a couple of the smaller tents until about 2am I think. There's normally a late film in the science fields. Usually have a couple of night-time parades, and the stuff outside the main arena goes on for a while too. Not a mega late night festival tbh, but okay (if you're slightly older like me!!)

Good additions for me - looking forward to Go! Team and Sorry especially.

Always been baffled that Bluedot and Latitude are on the same weekend. Appreciate they're at other ends of the country, but I've had to chose twice between these now I've hung my Glastonbury wellies up. Bluedot this year for me

Haven't been since 2016, but arriving Thursday instead of with the masses on Wednesday makes such a difference. Ok, you miss a day of wandering around, etc. But it means you're still relatively fresh when the bands start on Friday. Its worked for me for a number of the festivals, and I'm 64 this year.

Great to share comments and thoughts with everyone. Made the TV viewing somehow more connected. Good luck in October guys.

Always a tough slot before the Headliner on Sunday. I'm sure the bulk heading for food and drink before Kendrick or PSB. She sounds good though
-
Good energy from the crowd at Fontaines. Impressive for Sunday.

Just flipped to Noel Gallagher - crikey an even bigger crowd. Its going to be ginormous for Mr McCartney
-
Blimey - Olivia Rodrigo - who knew??? Certainly not this old duffer......quality quality performance
-
I tell you what though, the UHD Coverage is brilliant on iPlayer. We watched Sam Fender last night and were blown away with the quality of the pictures and the sound (only got a Sonos Beam soundbar, but it sounded terrific). Kudos to the Beeb

Flipped to Phoebe Bridgers - much better

I really like ST Etienne, but my god the singer is flat as a fart
