  1. Would it be safer for Boris if he were visiting Ukraine to tell Russia exactly where and when he will be so he can't get caught accidentally in the firing range or keep his movements under wraps so that he can't get deliberately caught in the firing range?

    Arcade Fire

I've frequented both and Edinburgh Corn Exchange is much worse.

The sound was shit at the back, but that's probably more to do with the acoustic qualities of a shoe box than the PA. So I'm unconvinced it'll be any better.

The ghastly Edinburgh Corn Exchange has in the last year taken the O2 dollar and is now the Edinburgh Academy, they promised to sort the sound system out when they took over but I've not had any reason to go since so no idea if that's helped. Even if they improve the sound it'll still be a soulless giant shoebox. To get this back on topic Arcade Fire, I thoroughly enjoyed their turn at the aforementioned Bristol Academy back in 2005, fantastic gig. Shout out to Owen Pallet as support and going walkabout through the crowd, it's night like that which mean I can't feel too down on the place whereas the Corn Exchange has only ever provided a mediocre night out.

I used to live in Bristol and the Academy there is nowhere near as bad as the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, truly the worst venue in the country.
  6. I'm not convinced that's top of their concerns, but you're right that every year people want news earlier and earlier so even if there are obvious special circumstances this year it would set a precedent that people would moan about.
  7. He's also a dab hand at recognising Beatles songs from 1 second snippets.

    Lizzo

When she's in the news for new music not "controversies" then people will move back onside, but no doubt the shine has somewhat come off.
  9. Can't believe nobody is talking about Bonnyrigg Rose securing the Lowland League title at the weekend with 4 games to spare. After all the stress about letting Celtic's and Rangers' B Teams into the league it's been something of a stroll for the Rose.
  10. If Jack White said he can do Saturday night then that's when they'd stick him on, they wouldn't just be like na not this year mate we reckon you cross over too much with Macca.
  11. I don't know why people say this, every year they put acts with similar fan bases on at the same time all the time, they don't give a stuff. Now I don't think it'll be Jack White as I can't see any reason why he wouldn't have been on the first poster but not because he's too similar to Paul.
  12. Still links to them here. https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/listen-to-our-john-peel-stage-2020-playlist/
  13. Not that I recall, he ended his set with this:
  14. There were a load of TBAs on the line-up and obviously most of them weren't anyone special, the photo isn't mine we were walking along the railway track at the time and there were a few people standing gawping we stopped for a bit but assumed it wasn't really him and moved on it wasn't until poking around on here after the event that I found out it was actually him. Spike is good for a late night set, 2019 saw Irvine Welsh in fake moustache and Borussia Dortmund tracksuit putting on a bad German accent and playing some acid house.
  15. He played Spike in 2014 and I don't believe there where any clues as it's a tiny venue.
  16. But that's because one of them will be with Khurangbin. Is that ok?
  17. I understand that, it was in response to somebody saying they were only going to try for people who they recognise because they post a lot and @crazyfool1 saying fine. Surely the response to that should be if you can't pick a group that you're happy to try for then don't bother as trying for people out with the group structure can mess things up for more people than it helps.
  18. Surely someone just trying for whoever messes up the system, if they get a ticket for a mix of people from different groups then anyone else getting through will be hit with the tickets already purchased from one of the registrations error message.
  19. They were both mentioned within a couple of posts as each other.
  20. I've tracked the playlists down and he wasn't on any of them, so if he is on a main stage it's a new addition for 2022. Somebody in the electronica thread said he was doing Pangea.
  21. Nah he's just doing his usual early start in Stonebridge but they chucked him on the poster for lols. I can't seem to find the stage specific playlists from 2020 so I can't remember where he was going to be then, if he's on West Holts he could easily be 3rd or 4th down.
  22. Don't forget that BBC3 has returned as a broadcast channel again so at headliner time there is likely to be Glastonbury on BBC2, 3 & 4 whilst BBC1 shows whatever waffle they put on a Saturday day night these days.
  23. Lekiddo Lord of the Lobsters tends to be about on the Thursday and as others have mentioned Mik Artistik Wednesday afternoon on the Croissant Neuf bandstand, other than that just have an explore and watch some random things whilst soaking up the vibes. In 2019 Soup from Jurassic 5 and his wee funk band were playing on the Thursday in the Bread and Roses, there really are some gems to be found on the first couple of days.
  24. Bon Iver also popped up with The Staves as well as Ye and James Blake.
