My festival claim to fame is that I went to Glastonbury -2 the Bath Blues Festival and Glastonbury -1 the Shepton Mallet Festival. The joy of being an old fart is that I got to see many of the great bands live and at their peak. After many years as a journalist I started a computer company which designed communications systems for the news industry. I was forced to give up work because of health issues but got back on my feet after three lots of brain surgery. On recovery I went to Cardiff Metropolitan University (then UWIC) to train as an adult and community ed tutor. After fifteen years of teaching and I was able to retire to concentrate on my garden, family, friends and festivals.
I worked through the ranks of volunteer stewarding at various festivals finally rising to the dizzy title of Duty Manager at a medium-sized folk/roots festival.
