I've become very much more sober over the years. Not been off my bonce at Glasto in about 10 years. In my experience you don't actually achieve or see much more cos the flow goes how it goes BUT you do remember it. I've still never had a gong bath or whittled a spoon and I actually want to do those things. 😄

I watched an audience cam of a whole show from the US leg. I didn't mean to watch it all but I got sucked right in. Short of a colossal self-own, she's going to be the one everyone's talking about. I can see where a bit could be trimmed from the show without losing the vibe but not a huge amount. How long do we reckon she'll get? I imagine 90mins is too much to hope for but 75 maybe? If Emily's been to the show (she surely has), she knows Lizzo deserves a little bit extra.

I refuse to believe Pulp won't be there until I get there and they don't turn up. I feel for Emily. She blinked at GnR and Lizzo was round the corner. I hope this means Lizzo gets an extended set.

There was a proper vibe in the field in '03. An enchantment. The strange thing that takes a gig to the next level. There was no vibe in '17.

I think we were just past the barrier. It sounded fine, screechy but fine, but there was a total disconnect twixt band and crowd. The bullshit art shown on the big screens rather than the band ensured that. In, at that point, 21 years, I'd never "officially"* heard Let Down live before. How apt. *I won't die on this one but I'll pummel ruddy hard, Let Down was played at TiTp '96 but wasn't on the set list. I didn't dream it.

As a long standing Radiohead fan, Radiohead. '17 was dismal compared to '03. I will die on this hill so be prepared to fight.

It did look like the area was about to get some love a few years back but then it looked desolate again last year, I assume for budget type reasons. It wouldn't be hard to make it pretty magical there. Nonce-sensical reasons aside, a rename is needed cos the current one simply sounds shit. Edit: CalGon out here bringing back my childhood nightmares, one by one.

West Holts is my default hang out too. Doesn’t matter who’s on stage or time of day, it’s just a nice place to be. I’d possibly spend as much time at the Park if getting there wasn’t such a commitment. At least WH is central to dash off when you have to.

It's logical and the least worst of the options. They really deserve to headline the Pyramid one last time though.

If I were the booker I'd want someone younger and fresher up against Elt but I'm not and who knows what their choices are.

That'd cause me some soul searching. Edit: I KNOW I'm straying into 'Adele to sub Radiohead' kinda territory here but is it entirely beyond the realms of possibility that AM would sub them? In a charitable cap doff to their Sheffield elders? Is it only in my dreams that AM could choose to appear humble rather than be schooled and eviscerated by Pulp playing before them?
