Thoroughly depressing.
-
Definitely not, but I wish they were.

I did think this was a nice touch. From their production livestreams I got the feeling that Howard was a bit more into his farming and sustainable living vibe these days rather than touring lots and playing live, but that's a bit of a guess. I guess the beauty of the hybrid DJ thing is you can be way more flexible in the type of gigs you play.

I'm a fan, but It'll be interesting to see Disclosures trajectory over the next few years, as it seems like they've binned their live show completely now (and they're also now independent, I think by choice?). Not sure a regular DJ set will sustain them playing venues like Alexandra Palace forever.

I watched his set out of curiosity last night and I felt about 84 years old watching it. Having said that, I always feel a weird sense of pride mixed with nostalgia whenever I watch Reading sets. It's great to see the youngens going for it regardless. Especially after the last eighteen months.

Just watched. Incredible! The set closer of Don't Delete the Kisses with Ellie sat on the stage and the crowd being enraptured, wow. Wish Glasto would take a punt on them to headline the Friday of 2022.

About halfway through...no album needs to be 1 hour 48 minutes does it? Agree with Matt, the religious stuff is just completely and utterly cringe at this point. There's deffo some fantastic stuff on here though, just a shame it's drowned out by all the filler. You can only assume Kanye has too many yes men around him agreeing to everything.

Extremely good point. MR is the hugest of vibes, I keep forgetting it's the penultimate tune.

Think I'm with you on this after a week as well. I still think it's a bit of a vibe, and the highs are very high, but then the rest I just feel nothing towards.
-
Genuine question, would the sub slot not have already been booked at this point? Or at least pre album release? (I honestly have no idea, and I guess it varies)

Definitely felt it for Stevie. Somehow ended up right down the front through sheer luck and it felt like the entire festival was in that field pouring their goodwill and love out towards him.

This thread has got me listening to the Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged album for the first time in ages. Layne's voice really was a thing of beauty.

That 2013 set radiated energy and excitement and I was only watching it on TV. It was almost like the size and majesty of Glasto finally met a band big enough to equal it. Was lucky enough to see them in 2018 and they were an absolute riot from start to finish. So glad I saw them now!

Very intriguing that... I mean that can't be the Strange we know can it? Would he willingly perform that kind of spell?
-
Just watched. Really enjoyed that. Really makes me miss Chadwick though 😞

Solar Power and Green Light also up on the GMA website. Green Light is made for that Pyramid field isn't it.
-
Just had my first listen. I think it's a bit of a vibe tbh. It lacks the overall brilliance and narrative of Melodrama and sags in the middle so I can see why it's getting mixed reviews, but it has some lovely moments.
-
First few reviews seem to be coming in... 4/5 from the Guardian, 3/5 from the Torygraph and 2/5 from the Independent.

2:42 onwards is just proper hug your pals stuff, so good.

Can't stop listening to Mood Ring, the 'floating away' hook is such an earworm. Can just imaging this drifting over the crowd at Glasto ❤️ What's the latest thinking on a potential slot she might play? Still all in for the Friday sub tbh, that would be a dream.

It's just so nice of Lorde to provide us with a Summer of VIBES. The official video is nice, but I'm feeling like the video for Crazy Town - Butterfly (minus the band shots) would be next level early 2000's-mystical-pleasure.
