I agree with the sentiment tbf, I would love at least one headliner every year to be an act getting a step up. In fairness they do it fairly often but it's undeniable (IMO) that they have missed a trick this year.
-
I take back my previous comment from earlier about lineups, that's absolutely beautiful for my tastes
-
That Friday lineup is perfection, it's also my birthday that day. Think I might be abroad that weekend though...maybe. Tempted...
-
Festival lineups across the board really are so so average this year aren't they?
-
Warren G (Silent Disco), I want that
-
I didn't know this. Makes me wonder why they picked AM rather than them for 2023 (assuming they were honouring bookings etc)
-
Honestly this is it summed up perfectly (minus Elton IMO, I think that has the potential to be v good)
-
This is the set that wipes out the next week for me, but it's so worth it
-
True, I'm just hoping he replicates 2017 where he did Parklife and Lovebox (and I wanna say Way Out West and Flow too?), although if I recall he didn't play any other UK dates other than those (might be wrong on that). Crossing everything!
-
Still trying to work out where he might play festival wise now that Lovebox is seemingly no more (other than the dream Glasto sub slot). APE seems the most logical place maybe?
-
I definitely think she's one of the acts remaining who would absolutely slay the legend slot. In my head the list of the acts that would almost be a guaranteed win for what the slot is are: Cher Robbie Williams Spice Girls Duran Duran Stevie Nicks (slightly less pomp-syncronised-dancing-security vibes but still has the back catalogue)

Like Skip says, GnR as a CHOICE when Axl sounds so horrendously shit is bizarre to me and it feels way off. But, I also agree with Matt that it could just be the way it is this year. Something tells me we're due a curveball that's a bit more exciting, but I'm keeping expectations low.

Yeah weren't they supposed to be taking a break to record a new album!? Live show feels so overexposed at this point IMO
-
I very much wanted to, but I was in deepest darkest Cornwall until I moved for Uni so we never made it to either! The jealousy was always immense
-
Wow, that's really surprising! Other Stage late afternoon/early evening in the sun would be fucking lovely. Could see them getting a big crowd actually.
-
There's a great article in the Guardian this week about their influence and how good the first album was (Paramore in particular are mentioned due to touring with them) Made me realise I'd never seen them and now I'm properly up for seeing them at Glasto. Was trying to think what slot they'd play these days. Does anyone know the last time they played? Google only throws up their 2007 and 2009 sets, have they seriously not played since then!?

Legit, his autobiography is fascinating, incredibly entertaining and somewhat horrifying all at the same time
-
Exactly this you'd imagine, being able to move with the times and adapt has always been one of his main strengths it seems
-
Foos is another one where I can absolutely see it happening but it would also just be a bit pointless and worse in every way than 2017. There's no drummer who is going to be better than Taylor was, and they've not released anything really memorable for years so it would be a complete rehash. It'll happen though and Grohl is such a nice guy that you don't really begrudge it, especially if it means the other two headliners could be more of a gamble or a step up for someone like (other) Dave.

Wow, TIL! Also the suggestion of Adele makes so much sense, I can't explain why but it just feels like she'd be perfect for it
-
2013 was one year I was gutted to miss out on, the whole lineup seemed really strong at the time (and fantastic looking at it now in retrospect)
-
It looked such a riot. Their Bestival set that year was similarly enormous fun. 2013 Chic was a peak, as it felt quite special. They're absolute legends and always will be, but there's been so lots of chances to see them since then that it's dulled it a tiny bit. Would still love them to come back and sub one day mind, but it would have to be the Friday or the Saturday for the party vibes.

Yeah I don't think I'll be there and their potential booking doesn't excite me at all, but I did love them as a teenager so I reckon there's a chance if I'm on the right level I might pop along for nostalgia sake, maybe...
