I'm going to sound a right old miserable c**t, but f**k it - I'll say it anyway. I don't understand why anyone would spend money on a personalised number plate. It seems such a waste of money to me. I just don't *get it*.ย

The only circumstances I can understand it in, is when a company buys them for a fleet and it makes vehicles more easily identifiable, plus it's a business cost so not coming out of anyone's pocket.ย

    Baffles me.ย

In 1956 my mum wrote to the council that ran Sheffield back then. The Lord Mayor got a new car every 2 years, so he wasn't due one that year. She requested the number plate he would have been allocated and was given it. This number plate was transferred to every vehicle my father owned until his death in 2007. It was left to me and every time I see it I think of him. So not everyone has spent money on a cherished number plate. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi all, Iโ€™ve just had an email to say that Iโ€™ve been successful in my application for an Access Card because I have a disability. I need someone to accompany me so presumably they will be able to get a ticket to come with me if I manage to get one.

Iโ€™m just a bit confused, if I am lucky enough to be able to get a ticket, should I also get one for the person who accompanies me, so I know theyโ€™ve definitely got one, and then apply through the accessible application form - and when thatโ€™s confirmed I can cancel the ticket Iโ€™ve paid a deposit for? Or do I trust the system and assume that if I get a ticket, theyโ€™ll be given one too because I have my access card?

I have been given an card that includes the Essential Companion symbol.

    Thanks!

You need to askย accessibility@glastonburyfestivals.co.ukย this question as it's a new scheme this year. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Screenshot from what?

"Not looking forward to the influx of people" - who wrote this?

The screenshot is from a very largeย  Glastonbury Facebook group that I am a member of, posted by one of the admins. It is the only thing I can find that mentions the all important tick box that I remember ticking when I updated mine and my husbands.ย

Thatโ€™s completely ignoring the people whoโ€™ve posted here that have confirmation emails but no active registrations associated with their email address.ย

And GFL wouldnโ€™t have postponed the sale if there wasnโ€™t a problem.

    ย

You still got a confirmation even if you didn't tick the box to keep your registration details. The registration details where the box wasn't ticked were then deleted on 30 September.ย

it didn't happen to me though, so I don't believe it's true.

I remember seeing lots of messages in a Facebook group I am a member of.ย  People were still getting reminder emails that their registration details would be deleted. People thought it was a scam email! ๐Ÿ™„ What they hadn't realised was they needed to scroll down to check the box saying they wanted to keep their registration. This is where I think the error occurred. The screenshot below is from September.....

I don't believe for a second that there was a database failure. There's no evidence to suggest that there was.

    I reckon there's 2 main problems.

    1. People not understanding / following the reconfirmation process all the way to the end.
    2. Confusion caused by people having (old) registrations they'd forgotten about (often on alternate email aliases that still end up in their usual inbox)

I've personally helped a few people who were struggling in the lead up to the sale, and all of their issues could be boiled down to one of the above. Meanwhile, after we'd worked through all these issues and double checked everything, *nobody* in our exceptionally large group suffered an unexpected deletion. The group being large enough that this would be statistically unlikely if there was any kind of failure.

It's fair to say that See could have done much better in addressing both of those issues, but that's still not a database failure. Nothing I've seen posted on here or elsewhere suggests there's a problem that couldn't be explained by the above.

This is exactly what I thought the issue was too. I too am part of a very large group and I am not aware of anyone in the group with this issue.ย

    1. When do tent tickets generally go on sale
    is it Sunday 9am?

    2. Could someone please share a link with prices from last year?

    3. We normally take a little shower tent, would this be allowed next to a WV tent or are they quite strict with stuff like that?

    Many thanks in advance ย

    1. I think I was about 3 weeks after the general ticket sale last year.

    2.ย https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/worthy-view-pre-erected-camping/booking-info/

    3. You can't erect any other tents in Worthy View, there are showers provided. ๐Ÿ™‚

Are we supposed to be able to edit registration details past the deadline this afternoon? Just tried and the link I get in the email does not work.ย  However, I have friends that report they can still.

Hoping that this isn't some sort of issue relating to reconfirming registration details.

All you can do is look up your registration detailsย https://glastonbury.seetickets.com/registration/lookupย until the registration reopens after the ticket sales this week.ย

That doesn't fix people being smuggled in in vans though right?

I know there have been various exploitations of pass-out system in previous years but that doesn't seem to be how the majority are getting in? Or I've missed something/ confused two things?

I don't think a trader would risk smuggling in people without a wristband. They would stand to lose their stall if caught.ย

I've certainly seen large groups (up to 20) of youngsters wandering around the CV fields before.. What has always surprised me is that 1. You have to get into the car parks (assume you need at least a car park ticket for that?) 2. You have to get from the car-parks to the CV fields (they are all manned gates)ย and that is before the even trickier 3. Getting from CV fields into the festival...

That being said it would need thousands to get in to make the festival feel over busy surely...?ย ย

The groups rounded up are considerably larger than 20! And there are many gates! The faster we all get EPO tickets the better.ย

  11. On 10/19/2023 at 3:05 PM, stuie said:

The thing is, the gates have multi layers with security / festaff / oxfam and aside from a handful of successful runners I can't see how they get through there, certainly not in any large number.ย

That said, maybe 2024 is the year the pass out system is finally dropped and EPO's are issued to everyone... but there's been talk of that since before covid.ย

    ย

Pop in to E21 Campervan field on Wednesday or Thursday evening and you will see the groups of people without wristbands awaiting there meet up with a trader to smuggle them in. Or being rounded up by security and being removed from the site. This has been happening for years!ย

Itโ€™s looking though the process has changed for 2024. Rather than send in copies of paperwork etc an application will need to be made for a Glastonbury Festival Access Pass if you do not already have an Access Card -

    Hi

I have a friend who is autistic and looking at the possibility of her going to the festival 2024, due to her autism I am used to researching the hell out of anything and have been looking at her getting a PA ticket to help while she is there.

I have read all I can on the website and I'm a bit confused by the timings. On here (https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/tickets/#ACC) it says they buy a ticket as normal, pay the deposit and request a PA application. The balance is paid at the start of April but the PA applications don't go in til end of April. This would leave someone who needs their assistant to go, holding with a ticket, without knowing if their assistant will get one. Neither can go, but has wasted a ticket someone could have had.

Has anyone done this before, and does this sound right or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Here is a screenshot of the evidence required for a PA ticket in 2023, this could change. If you have any doubt about getting one buy a ticket. This can always be refunded at a later time. ๐Ÿ™‚

Does anyone know that if booking a coach ticket package, can you take under 12's with you? And if so how do you do this? I've never seen this option on the booking page before.ย

They were reasonable about it. My mate was on crutches but no accessibility band, and they waved him down there.

I would not like to attempt the hill on crutches, fair play to him!ย

First timer question. What wristband were people showing to take the shortcut down the hill from the campervan fields where everyone else was being directed down the longer side at busy times?

The Accessible wristband allows you to go down the hill, along with the rest of your group. ๐Ÿ™‚
