  1. Bottom of the article just posted about Joe Bananas has this weirdly…

The Saturday night headliner is a stadium-level artist of global prominence, consistently ranking among the most-streamed artists in the world.”

  2. I think there's certainly something to the idea that if the festival is important to you, the process of attending does allow you to leave behind a lot of the emotional weight you've been carrying. I think perhaps it's that a week at Glastonbury allows you to 'reset' and escape the cycles you find yourself repeating in the real world.

A month and a half prior to the 2022 festival I had an operation to have my thyroid removed after they found cancer. I'd had the diagnosis in January, and I spent the first half of the year incredibly anxious about the entire thing - it would manifest itself in some weird ways, and I lost count of the number of days or evenings I lost to feeling overwhelmed by everything going on. Three or four times a week I felt like I was dying and there was nothing I could do.

I remember the Monday before the festival I was still feeling terrible, with me calling up a friend and crying over the phone about how I didn't want to feel how I had been while there. This was despite already having had the operation and being back to work, living my life like normal.

While at the festival, I ended up feeling the best I had all year, and getting home after the festival, everything seemed to lift and I was able to basically go back to a normal day-to-day without the feelings I'd had before. The whole thing could be coincidence, but I do honestly think the process of going to Glastonbury and just existing there for a few days helped me get past it.

Weird seeing this screenshot on here, as it's from a video I made in 2011 at university in the lead-up to the festival. I spent a couple days on-site during the build to make some various bits of content for YouTube/Glasto site.

  4. I'd booked for Gunnersbury before the album came out as it's on my birthday so felt like an ideal way to spend the day.

Really loving the album - does feel squarely made for fans of any/all 3 of the members already. Not sure how wide the appeal will be if you weren't already a fan of them.

Take it normal punters can't enter through gate A?

Pretty sure it's possible if you've come via car and parked on the west side of the site. Staff might try and gentle steer everyone towards Ped Gate D, but I seem to remember that you head to Ped Gate A instead if you want to.

  6. Think I'm on about my eleventh Self Esteem show now and she continues to get better every time. I thought before Glastonbury that I should probably give it a miss as it's been the same set for quite a while now (since PP came out) but I obviously didn't listen to myself and ended up seeing both the JP set and the Greenpeace set and they were both knock outs.

Would love her to win the Mercury - though a lot of it was in jest, she was somewhat vocal about feeling that Compliments Please should have been nominated when that came out. Glad they're come around now to see how important an artist she is.

  7. It’s about an hour wait in the pre-boarding area based off our timing. But you could easily skip all of that queue if you know where the train is departing from. Currently on Platform 1 for the 12.15 and you could easily walk straight onto the train if you came off the Elizabeth Line as there’s no barriers anywhere.
