  1. Would it be fair to say this a better and riskier booking than O-Rod who has cut through to the wider public more?

First G headliner I feel totally out of the loop with

  2. No different to an artist being massive in one part of the world and less known elsewhere.

Duno if it's the lack of announcement, not sure why everyone is up for an argument about a specific point

This is just absolutely not true. A one hit wonder?! She’s constantly got other songs playing on the radio and in the charts. If you’re not familiar with them then fair enough, but she isn’t headlining Glastonbury off the back of one song that isn’t even her own.

I'm not talking about me or saying she's a one hit wonder.

I know loads of people who only know that one song.

    Oh, you're actually being serious!

She's got banger after banger after banger, can't see the mass exodus you predict.

And to a specific group of people outside her fanbase she's a one hit wonder. Don't think that's too hard to comprehend

A mass exodus of LFC fans or do you think the whole field clears? The latter feels very unlikely.

The festival has a large scouse presence, will be loads of groups who will be watching her for one song only. The song has it's own life here outside the typical Dua fanbase.

Probably be loads of annoying people chatting nonsense for the rest of the set because of it

I'm tempted to go just for that song. Not that I like it but I always makes me laugh when it gets an airing at the match. It's just so odd that it's been added to the cannon.

I think she's equally as baffled tbh but it's good to have something more upbeat to play.

I can see a mass exodus after it's been played.

That poster was removed @august1 because of several complaints over  quite a long time and the posting of multiple American festivals over last few weeks , I consulted with other moderators before doing so . Unfortunately with moderation you will never please all and we try to do very little . As for the bump of other thread I will use the acts touring thread in future but you might see them more often as they are pretty constant tourers . would be great if you could share the acts that were relevant  on those posters though . Thanks

Loads of names on that poster was relevant, if there's a blanket ban on 1 poster doing a certain type of post, sound.

If anyone else had posted it wouldn't have been an issue. I thought it was quite useful. Takes 2 seconds to scroll past if not. Thanks

Certainly shouldn't be any issue looking at the headliners (and line ups more generally) across the festival landscape to place Glastonbury in context - to help us second guess who we might land up with and to understand how lucky or unlucky we've been.

The offending post which has been deleted. Contained a near certain other stage headliner and a previous Pyramid headliner who's up and active in things fall through.

    Makes no sense.

  9. The amount of off topic chat across the forum, I'm struggling to see the problem with someone dropping 1 post with another line up.

By the same logic should a thread about your mates band who opened the JP 7 years ago still be in the Glasto forum with random non Glasto related bumps?

  10. looking on setlist looks like other than the odd song appearance and a couple of Christmas shows he's not toured properly since 2018? Is he still good?

  11. I've always thought the festival was too slow getting people on the up to headline at times, feel like they've gone the other way a bit. Getting people with 1-2 albums under their belt. Assuming headlining G is a once and done thing. You miss out on getting them at their peak with a career defining set.

Impossible to judge someone's career trajectory so thankless task mind

did oasis ever actually go away?

dark fruits indie etc has been around for years - i guess this is what your referring to

Oasis stayed popular with the people from the time but that didn't translate into the youth picking up on them until 6-7 years ago.

The demographics at Gallagher gigs has massively shifted to kids, not just the old timers. Liam's stock is so much higher now

  13. looking at some of the footage of reading festical, the depressing realisation that everyone in the crowd in the view wasnt born when the song came out all going mental.

Oasis had a revival 6-7 years ago with the youth, seems the killers have as well or they just never went away?

Could he potentially sub? Or is he now Legends slot or bust as surely not a headliner in this day.

in terms of people in the field he's pyramid headliner size, but don't think the festival would go in that direction to book him.

I don't think many headliners would be too pleased to have him subbing.

Think there are a few names they'd like in the legends slot before moving onto him.

Someone who doesnt quite fit the bill imo
