  1. No one from the Government available for comment Fuck the lot of them
  2. It's a niche genre for a whole festival, the OP may be better canvassing the promoters/organisers and online collectives on the scene for demand?
  3. I miss Lost Vagueness, night time friendly hedonism with no tourists. Most bizarre was stumbling on Warlords of Pez in the boxing ring (chapel?) singing about talking in a monster voice. Casino speakeasy music and acts were incredible, stood next to Kate Moss once and noone else noticed or gave a shite. Including me!
  4. Got tickets for first gig in years to prepare. Training starts Nov with Confidence Man in Bristol 💣
  5. I was & they were brilliant and the atmosphere in the crowd. Def great fun/better than expected. Love Stevie but wasnt a classic. Rest pretty much spot on for me
  6. Irony being 'Corpses' is his only good solo record
  7. Nice shot of Alice at the end! Worked in a record shop when Morning Glory was released, first listen we all groaned at the inspiration from Imagine, Beatles drum rolls etc but we loved singing You & Me to this! Wore off quick after hearing it 5 days a week for 18 months. . .
  8. Lamont Dozier. Gone back to his roots https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/aug/09/lamont-dozier-motown-songwriter-dies-age-81
  9. Gutted. She was beautiful in every way
  10. Artists shouting GLAS TUN BERET get on my underwhelmed knockers
  11. Madonnas Beautiful Stranger is based on this. Esp 1:30
  12. Thanks to the op for starting the thread as it's got me working out my finances, income/current job satisfaction (both shite but once good, have FT job and carer morns eves) etc. Out of necessity I haven't been to gigs or drank for years & been smart about spending but the reality of what's left of my wages the past 3 months means I need to sharpen my elbows again and earn more end of. I could work it, but as my only 'holiday' and chance to experience gigs dancing and the rest, its a real contrast situation and may be healthier to get a balance of fun year round. Glastonbury is still the cheaper and ultimate fun option for me. Sorry for the life-vomit just bit overwhelmed and glad this has prompted me to be honest and look at what I can do to make it work
  13. Have to run with Gary Glitter on this subject. Rock n Roll 1 & 2, Hello Hello I'm Back Again, Do You Wanna Touch Me are all incredible but the latters lyrics make you want to roll in bleach afterwards The Glitter Band were equally great but the stains are so stubborn you can't get the Leader out
  14. Shame as Grace is fantastic. Her hula hooping through Slave to the Rhythm at the Diamond Jubilee was a joy
  15. Bumped into Jarvis chest to chest in a railway track gridlock in 2010. I said hello coyley and he did the same. He smelt beautiful, I expected a bit musty. Saw him later by chance DJing in the Rabbit Hole. He played B52s Dance This Mess Around and the record kept skipping. I was trying to dance 'the Pony' to it in hiking boots
