  1. Delighted to see the trains in Scotland in public ownership, where they should be. Of course they would never have left public ownership if it had been left to voters up here. but... Sadly, we rejected the chance to govern ourselves. I'm glad that you finally recognise that "the English" effectively govern Scotland. I'm surprised that you appear to think that they are making a good job of it.
  2. Never, ever, under any circumstances, Barry? I mean, I do hope you're right. I guess I don't have the same knowledge of what the future holds as you clearly do, Barry.
  3. Its your modesty I love Barry. I know someone else who said he got all the calls right apart from implicitly not recognising a party when he sees one. Not quite sure what the relevance of this to this thread is.
  4. Just hopped on to say that you are a relative voice of sanity on here. This whole thing has become like Brexit where you pick your side and latch on to anyone who supports your "team" As I've said before, its the people who are certain they are right that worry me most. There seem to be a few of them on here. I generally can't be arsed engaging with the likes of Barry Fish & his Codswallop hence why you appear to be a lone voice. Whilst the current top variant is now clearly less virulent, and the easing of restrictions seems the right thing to do, I can't help thinking that the narrative our leaders are pushing has far more to do with saving our great tousle-haired leader's skin than what is best for our country.
  5. absolute bollocks as usual Barry. face coverings, for example – might be required in the longer-term to enable us to live with it with far fewer protective measures." is not the same as Sturgeon saying she thinks face masks might be mandatory in shops forever
  6. not quite sure how they would get it into people's houses though!! They need our green energy to meet their climate targets. Their record is patchy (as it is in most areas)
  7. Not necessarily. I am saying these are difficult decisions and I'm bloody glad I don't have to make them. I am very suspicious of those who claim to know with absolute certainty what the right thing to do is. https://www.travellingtabby.com/uk-coronavirus-tracker/ Wales has. Scotland hasn't.
  8. Energy policy in Scotland is a matter that has been specifically reserved to the UK parliament under the terms of the Scotland Act 1998 that created the devolved Scottish Parliament https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_policy_of_Scotland
  9. Covid Scotland: Scots did not 'flock' to England for Hogmanay amid coronavirus restrictions, data shows Data from Traffic Scotland and transport operators has revealed no rise in the number of travellers heading south of the border to celebrate the New Year despite harsher rules being enforced on Scottish hospitality. https://www.scotsman.com/health/coronavirus/covid-scotland-scots-did-not-flock-to-england-for-hogmanay-amid-coronavirus-restrictions-data-shows-3519013 Looks like the border guards were not required.
  10. For the vast majority of this pandemic, Scotland's infection & death rates have been lower than England's. Apparently that is because of demographic & geographical reasons. On the odd occasions they are higher, it suddenly becomes the fault of the SNP. Sorry, I can't speak for Wales.
  11. Not sure why the action of 4 numpties are of any particular significance. The numpties running the UK at present are, I would suggest, of more concern.
  12. What is? Not being on duty on the border? Damned if you do...etc
  13. Don't think so Neil. I'm sure we'd have heard about it if they were So sorry to disappoint you.
  14. So according to you an independent Scotland would have a deficit of £15bn and that hasn't destroyed support for Indy. and according to you the SNP has destroyed Scottish education and that hasn't destroyed support for Indy. and according to you the SNP killed thousands of care home residents and that hasn't destroyed support for Indy. and according to you Salmondgate would destroy Sturgeon and that hasn't destroyed support for Indy. Bur having to show a bit of paper (or an app) before you can go dancing will destroy support for Indy. Well, its an interesting theory...
