saddam being a murdering tyrant is the justification blair gave when British servicemen were dying ("it was all worth it to remove a murdering tyrant")

so I take it you supported the invasion of Iraq, then Neil?

a simple yes or no would be nice.

Just for clarity, I didn't then & I still think it was a huge mistake.

The same people who still have a downer on blair for Iraq were calling for intervention in Gaza. Intervention against a murdering tyrant depends on who the tyrant is.

We didn't invade Iraq because Sadaam was a murdering tyrant  - or at least that's not what we were told.

And I don't hear many folk campaigning for us to invade Israel.

Other than that, you are spot on as usual

Bad headlines based on lies have screwed Labour in the past. The Tories had already started saying Labour will cost you thousands in childcare. In an election year they have to neutralise that attack. Even a proposed review would be used against Labour.  The Greens don't alway mean what they say, they accepted stuff they had campaigned against to go into coalition in Scotland.

I think you'll find that's how coalitions generally work.

It’s mad how I can disagree with you so much re snp and Indy yet we can both see clearly that he is talking so much pish 😂

Unlike some, I have no issues with folk who disagree with me. We are all entitled to our opinions.

as i pointed out i'm using WOS to undermine your previous arguments.

Using someone you consistently called a liar and who I never relied on to undermine my arguments may not be your strongest card.

so do you think no one has been turned off scots governing the scots by the self indulgent ramming thru of unworkable* pro-trans laws.

I don't agree with your description but I am absolutely sure some folk will have been turned off indy by hatemongers like the Bishop of Bath. Not quite sure how this relates to my point (which of course you haven't addressed) that support for Indy has not reduced in line with support for the SNP.

(* they've been proven as unworkable by scottish institutions not working to them.)

if you think no one has been turned off indie by those f**k ups, then you've got a very low opinion of your fellow scots.

    See above.

wings has found the honest voice it didn't have in all the years it was an snp lie-piece, the same years you swallowed the snp lies i ripped into you back then  for you  using wings to supportsnp lies.

if a pro indie ; pro scot greens site, is reporting that their policies are causing people to turn away, i believe there's some truth to it, especially when polling at the same time says the snp will lose loads of the seats its won previously.

even the Scottish police and Scottish prison service  won't support the Scottish govt policies and there's no complaints from the normally mouthy nats.

I am sure the few on here who were involved in the dirty independence debate will be as amused as I am that Neil is now using WOS to support his argument.

Incidentally, I believe in amongst his current odious nonsense, he still supports Scottish Independence. Do you now acknowledge that he is right about that?

Or is he only right when he agrees with you?

support for the snp has tanked.so say the polls, who reckon there'll be far fewer snp mp's at the general election. scots are not impressed with how scots are governing scots.

fact checked at indy supporting media "wings over scotland", who used to swallow everything indy, they've suddenly found a brain and voice to be critical.

Neil & I had many long, detailed and tedious conversations during the indyref campaign. I was scrupulous in not using wings over Scotland to support any of my arguments as I recognised that, although he was probably the most prominent pro-indy site, his relationship with facts was, at best, debatable. On the rare occsaions I even mentioned him, Neil tore into me and pretty much accused me of consorting with the devil.

Funnily enough, now that he hates the SNP & is vying with Linehan & Rowling for the biggest transphobe award, Neil loves him.

How about an apology for all the SNP lies.

How about addressing the point that polls suggest, that, despite a drop in support for the SNP, support for independence has not shown a similar drop?

she inherited a country f**ked by the unions, and changes in the world around it, the uk was trying to adapt to changed trading terms due to the end of empire.

Just out of curiosity, Neil, was that your view at the time? Or have you revised it with the "benefit" of hindsight?

those industries were f**ked which everyone knew who was paying attention, she chose to stop throwing huge amounts of money at them. thatcher just pulled the trigger on those f**ked industries. the 'miracle' was turning thing around from no jobs and no hope into something almost booming "loads of money"

She created the "no jobs and no hope"

the "thatcherite  economic miracle", which got the uk out of deep sh*t,

Thatcher destroyed vast swathes of British industry, laying waste to dozens of communities in the process. She glorified greed and staged an assault on any notion of social responsibility.

Wouldn't be my definition of a miracle.

they'll probably promnise more cuts in the future too, just to make the election argument about tax - tories have won a few elections using tax.

i don't care about tax as i'm out of the tax system with tax free income.

    Very noble, Neil.

I still pay tax and would be delighted to pay more tax if the government were spending it wisely.

they'll have to reverse these pre election tax cuts...whoever gets in power will have to.

Nah, they can just cancel some more of that green shite!

if yoiu want a cheap house can i suggest Plymouth or hull. affordable to all millenials there.

in the 1970s everyone could by a house in their preferred location, they didn't have to start off in the sh*t towns.

no, Neil not everyone could buy a house in their preferred location - my mates who bought houses in the 70's didn't buy them in their preferred locations - they bough them in the best locations they could afford.  And whilst buying a house was certainly much easier then - plenty of folk still could not afford it.

SNP want to be able to write on their leaflets that the English parliament is rigged against them.

i've been consistently right about the snp trying to sell by grievance  a crock of prejudiced shite.

    Thanks for your opinion, Neil.

I remember when you used to say Scotland would be independent by 2024. whathappened?

Can't remember if I said that or not, but it's not totally implausible.

If I did say it, I was wrong.

  16. 3 minutes ago, Neil said:

don't think I've ever called anyone a climate change denier, and only called the destroyers Tories.i used to get accused of banning anyone who disagreed with me, but did a bad job of that by who is still around. 😛

Well, to be fair, Neil, you and I have been consistently disagreeing for 10 years* and you have never banned me.

*Because you have been consistently wrong.

in Bristol currently, that's the conversation the green party are starting (nothing about their policies) - its another mark against the possibility of the greens winning their no.1 target seat.
