Just saw this on Facebook. Probably useless now, but thought I'd post it just in case...

π That was the year I went solo...got some dirty looks...

All About the Bass (by Meghan Trainor)
-
I thought it was beyond saving. It was folded, completely dried out, with dirt on it. But with the help of plenty of solution, bam, the tables were turned and the victory was all the sweeter for it. Of course, my left eye has since been removed due to the infection, so if you see me with my eye patch on at Glasto, buy me a pint.

Glasto 2008. I lost a contact lens in my tent on the Friday night. Looked everywhere with my torch but couldn't find it. Next morning, not only did I find it, but it was still usable after a good rinse. Victory was mine.

The Train Song by Tom Waits

In 2019 I was really looking forward to JS Ondara on the Acoustic Stage, but he didn't make it. It'd be great if he got booked somewhere this year.

What are some songs with "train" in the title? I'll start with Train in Vain by The Clash

Listening to them now. They're really good, actually. Some funny lyrics.

π Might have to borrow that one.

Yeah, they sound like they'll be a banging live band.

Putin's advancing faster than we thought. He could be in Shepton by June.

Ward Thomas are pretty cool, too. Been listening to them a bit today π

That was a close call, then π Just messing. That would've been a good booking for the LF Stage. I'd like to see a Yorkshire Colliery Brass Band play there too.

The spoken word tent is very underrated. Buddy Wakefield was brilliant there a few years back.

House in Pilton is a good shout! But the bulk of the money would go towards the Free Joe Exotic campaign.

I'm getting flashbacks of the year MJ died. He wasn't a child molester, you know. They found him not guilty.

Controversial opinion. I think McFly are da bomb, and the only reason I won't see them at Avalon is the crowds. Big up to the McFly lads!

I wouldn't meet up with anyone from these forums π but play it by ear when you get there and you'll naturally find the people that suit you. But I would definitely recommend spending time on your own and having random convos with people on the fly. It's so liberating, and when I went on my own in 2008 I had the best time ever. Of you're on your Todd, you don't have to compromise with anything. Either way, you'll have a mind expanding experience (not saying you'll definitely have a great time because some people hate it, like a girl I went with once). Rambling a bit now, but you get what I'm saying. Peace.

I have it on good authority that there will be another stage lineup announcement in the next four weeks. I can't say any more.

Yeah, I was surprised when it wasnt there in 2009. I seem to remember Billy Bragg mentioning being back in 2022 at some point though π€

Yeah, they're not the brightest. Imagine! Mass testing like that would be much more of a health hazard than the drugs themselves π

I remember really wishing I'd been at the 2004 one at the time (Paul McCartney, Oasis, Muse, if I've got my year right).
