In terms of public areas inside the fence, about 17-20 years ago.

Though obviously they still exist outside the fence, and in some non-public areas where low volume provision is needed.

I remember it being announced in 2014 as the year they removed the portaloos in-site.  I wasn't there 2011-2013, but they were defs there in 2010.

the Glade stage has moved a bit and is less gladey. Sadly there was a diseased tree that needed felling. William's green has gone and has been replaced by Carhenge. Carhenge has a lot of love.

But in the place where the stage called "The Glade" was, we have Glade Dome, which is way more gladey than the stage called Glade has been for years.

Anyone else seeing "too many requests" in the console even though the refresh rate isnt high at all?

You get it even if you let it run for 20 seconds.  I'd ignore.

Not in any particular order, just as I thought of them, but Kae Tempest may well be the best of the lot.

I've left the videos as links so as not to clog the place up.

Ah there's one glaring omission, so it's now 11

Black Eyed Peas in 2004 an underrated gem. They turned up and just entertained the f**k out of us. Proper showbiz.

sh*t, can I have 11 and swap Elbow for The Cure and Jagwar Ma please? 😁

Oh and Dizzee Rascal was great in 2009.

10 is hard, especially when you think for more than 5 minutes!

  6. In no particular order, mainly because it's been the 21st century for such a long time, I can't remember

    Radiohead 2017

    The xx 2017

    Kae Tempest 2017

    Battles 2008

    John Grant 2016

    Underworld 2016

    Elbow 2014 *

    Gorillaz 2010

    Chas'n'Dave 2005 (I sh*t you not)

    Confidence Man 2022

    * Yes I know that it was essentially a  carbon copy of the superior set they played in 2011, but I wasn't there.

I'm sure I've forgotten loads that are better than some of these, but this is what springs to mind.

Haha I listened to my first chart show in like 4000 years just to find out... Was announced over 30 minutes ago now

Odd move to put a timer on the website for when the new chart is out, but it actually comes out earlier on the radio.

Oh ok, well that makes a lot more sense now... You know, you're really hard to read sometimes, probably why you're often misunderstood. 🙈

I don't read her comment like that though, I read it as his songwriting and performance was so good, it makes many who came before him's efforts look like the work of children. But maybe I'm wrong. 🤷‍♂️

That's how I read it too.

Yeah, provably right but must have all passed o'Conor by given her words.

For that song, it's not just a costume, it's intrinsic to the personal journey he's been on over the last ten years or so, living with a chronic auto-immune disorder that has given him extreme physical and mental health issues.

There's nothing new under the sun, but this version is elevating his influences to a whole new level. Incidentally, the fact that a lot of this has been done before is directly addressed in the song itself.

Yea it's going to be rapid, feedback mechanism after feedback mechanism.

Meanwhile most still bury their heads ostrich style.

The deniers are out in force like never before on Twitter. None of it is real apparently.

Same. As I recall it was during Jacob's audience choir. It all fell apart for a few seconds as our 'laaaaa' when to 'oooh!'

I remember the distinct feeling that Jacob had done it with his musical magicianship.  They seemed to be in time with the music!

  13. I'm a noob at only 17 times compared to most on this thread, but I need at least one year where I've decided not to go, rather than having my hand forced by getting married/having children/not getting a ticket or leave.  And I haven't since 1997.

I found myself talking about old times and things I'd done 10 years ago in the place I was standing rather than getting on and enjoying things.

It's great to know so many people from here, but to catch up with everyone meant using this stupid black mirror far more than I wanted to.

It's a big old world, I want to go on holiday to different places with my family and attend my daughter's last sports day next year.

I'll be back, just not in 2024. I think I'd made my mind up before the bands started this year. I need a way to approach the festival that's appropriate to my age - I was 18 when I started and I most certainly am not any more!
