  1. I expect so. It's way too early for us though.
  2. Black Eyed Peas in 2004 an underrated gem. They turned up and just entertained the f**k out of us. Proper showbiz.
  3. sh*t, can I have 11 and swap Elbow for The Cure and Jagwar Ma please? 😁 Oh and Dizzee Rascal was great in 2009. 10 is hard, especially when you think for more than 5 minutes!
  4. In no particular order, mainly because it's been the 21st century for such a long time, I can't remember Radiohead 2017 The xx 2017 Kae Tempest 2017 Battles 2008 John Grant 2016 Underworld 2016 Elbow 2014 * Gorillaz 2010 Chas'n'Dave 2005 (I sh*t you not) Confidence Man 2022 * Yes I know that it was essentially a carbon copy of the superior set they played in 2011, but I wasn't there. I'm sure I've forgotten loads that are better than some of these, but this is what springs to mind.
  5. I used to work with someone who regularly accused me of being a pendant. Obviously, I couldn't correct him.
  6. Sick Boi is my favourite song of his. Listen loud!
  7. Odd move to put a timer on the website for when the new chart is out, but it actually comes out earlier on the radio.
  8. Never mind! https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/ren-sick-boi-number-1-album-rick-astley-are-we-there-yet/
  9. Where are you seeing that? I thought we didn't find out until quarter to? https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-chart/
  10. For that song, it's not just a costume, it's intrinsic to the personal journey he's been on over the last ten years or so, living with a chronic auto-immune disorder that has given him extreme physical and mental health issues. There's nothing new under the sun, but this version is elevating his influences to a whole new level. Incidentally, the fact that a lot of this has been done before is directly addressed in the song itself.
  11. Not at the moment, a bit burnt out in hedonism in general.
  12. Just seen this thread pop up. I'm still not going. Quite looking forward to picking a less intense festival for next year though.
  13. The deniers are out in force like never before on Twitter. None of it is real apparently.
  14. Look like adverts to me. No idea what the grenade was for though!
  15. I remember the distinct feeling that Jacob had done it with his musical magicianship. They seemed to be in time with the music!
  16. I'm a noob at only 17 times compared to most on this thread, but I need at least one year where I've decided not to go, rather than having my hand forced by getting married/having children/not getting a ticket or leave. And I haven't since 1997. I found myself talking about old times and things I'd done 10 years ago in the place I was standing rather than getting on and enjoying things. It's great to know so many people from here, but to catch up with everyone meant using this stupid black mirror far more than I wanted to. It's a big old world, I want to go on holiday to different places with my family and attend my daughter's last sports day next year. I'll be back, just not in 2024. I think I'd made my mind up before the bands started this year. I need a way to approach the festival that's appropriate to my age - I was 18 when I started and I most certainly am not any more!
  17. I did not expect the opera!
  18. I didn't get the greatest hits (and probably won't bother) Total 579Gb. That'll do for another year.
  19. Up to almost half a terabyte and still going... 😁
  20. I was, and they were nowhere near as packed, just less well managed.
  21. Glad you enjoyed it. I thought he was great! He'd reigned himself in compared to some of the other performances I've seen. The couple of pop/rnb songs he has under his belt really popped on a live stage. Although I lost my note a couple of times, being part of the choir was fantastic - his almost exclusive fanbase of musicians no doubt helped in that regard! FWIW, I was stood stage centre about halfway between desk and stage and I thought his piano was almost inaudible during most of the set apart from near the end, so I don't blame the beeb too much. Oh, and the red arrows appeared to fit his tune exactly.
