  1. It’s extortionate, it being Finland. Industrial site which leaves a lot to be desired, with little to no vibe whatsoever. If you’re considering one or the other, go WoW.
  2. Biggest grossing artist on Dead Oceans…
  3. Normally in the morning so I’d say probably not today.
  4. The kind of disaster I could get behind, but a disaster all the same!
  5. There is one more to come according to their socials.
  6. Mandy, Indiana are excellent live, albeit maybe a bit of an acquired taste!
  7. Thanks. Is that a festival bus or a more regular one? Google Maps suggested a cab because of a lack of alternatives…
  8. Strongly considering this as the summer’s international festival, but it’s trickier to get to than some. Is it best to fly to Porto and go from there? (From London, that is.)
  9. Where is all the talk of Dave coming from? He’s not exactly particularly active right now and doesn’t seem to have any other dates in the diary?
  10. The rain that night was absolutely biblical! Couldn’t believe how small the crowd was for Devo.
  11. Have done GM numerous times and EOTR once. I have to say, I much prefer the former. Overall vibe was preferable. Beer festival in the courtyard is a fantastic extracurricular bit. Size-wise, they’re much of a muchness. GM may be slightly more compact both in terms of stages, etc. and the camping which, if closer to the festival itself, seems more cramped. Far Out is a tent whereas the Garden (I think it’s called?) is outdoor so if you really want to catch something that may be popular in there, get there early. Otherwise fine. Sight-lines much better on the main at GM as it’s a natural amphitheatre, and one of the best festival stages in the world in my personal opinion. You’ll love it. Everybody does!
  12. Really enjoyed QOTSA too. Crowd was definitely a committed one, but it was small by any metric.
  13. Not to generalise too much, but there is very evidently one set demographic within these forums. And this line up is not intended for said demographic.
  14. His discography is sort of bookended by more ambient bits, but two in the middle (Immunity and Singularity) tend to hit slightly harder.
  15. I don’t know when it will be announced, but there is a much bigger name than either of those on the way.

    Press pass

I quite like it to be totally honest. Makes sense to me!

    Press pass

The latter part of this post I do agree with, but they’ve always been very understanding in my experience.

    Press pass

I feel like there's a chunk of misinformation here, so here are my 2c on the subject: Press tickets are not ‘free’. Covering the festival, in any capacity, isn’t so easy, so it’s work however vaguely it’s approached. There is no payment involved, no obligatory charity donation, and the majority of people there to cover the festival aren’t on ‘punter’ upgrades. They are there because they have something to offer in return, have earned it on reputation, et cetera. You’re given a Hospitality pass, which gets you in. It’s a long one which can be made to feel that bit longer when you’ve got to have your head screwed on even loosely, so a minor perk can be welcome. There is a press tent within the interstage area, where you can pick up a pass which grants readmittance to said tent across the course of the weekend. Again, where people are working throughout the thing. You get access to the interstage, the campsite, and that’s more or less it beyond the rest of the festival. They’re incredibly accommodating, as Glastonbury is with everything in my experience.
