  1. The exact same set they were tutting at me for daring to stand for 🤣 it was a great set though, the fella next to me was in peals of tears for Bright Eyes and absolutely bawled when I told him it was no.1 the day I was born 🤣🤣 we had a beer and a great big hug after the set, he was a lovely soggy man
  2. I’ve only been in there for a couple of acts, and it’s been a little cliquey - there’s clearly a fair amount of people there for large tracts of the day with their little seats and their picnic blankets, and they’re a tadge resentful of people popping in for a set or two and then trampling out. Anecdotally, of course, and I’ve always popped in for a couple of pints at the ale bar on the Thursday before the music starts, and that’s been fine and very non-cliquey!
  3. You'd think that people cancelling would be more likely a week or so before the festival, as people become unwell/issues arise that mean they have to pull out. Good luck place hunters!

No I’m not. But it’s not something to attack the fans for, I’m sure the majority of them wouldn’t want that particular player in their team either; a group of them organised a banner earlier this season saying ‘kick rapists out of football’ and it was flown over the game they were playing that day, so absolute respect to them for that. It’s the club that need to take the stick for it, they’re the ones who are pretty disgusting.

That depends which club they play for, and whether that club have any morals
  6. I’m pretty sure it was a straight fiver. Perhaps the last year they’ve managed to cling onto that as a price point . . .
  7. Blur will be looking for new support for the wembley gig i'm off to in July then. You'd imagine he'll disappear from public eye until convicted/cleared, but it doesnt always work like that (sadly)
  8. Lock ups get my house keys, my car keys and my proper full wallet - i keep a festival wallet that just has one photo ID, cash and one bank card - if i manage to lose them i can go back to the lockup and get my proper wallet with other cards etc. Thus far an infallible solution. (I also have a deeply unsexy dog lead thingo for my mobile attached to my waist, ensuring i dont lose my mobile falling out of me pocket when im having an impromptu floor nap or similar - its very reassuring!)
  9. i'll start a audio blog review of all the pie stalls of the site i think
  10. Big bag of cans, and a fucking great big long walk around wherever takes your fancy! It’s not organised or comprehensive, but you’ll come across all sorts of interesting stuff
  11. Last year was only my second, and I got earlies 🙃 however I do bring sweets and biscuits and presume this is clearly shown on my volunteer profile, hence the luck! Do you sign up on your own? It’s an oft-repeated observation that lone applicants are preferred for earlies cos they don’t have to worry about shift partners etc - dunno if it’s true but it makes a certain kind of sense
  12. Im pretty sure the cashpoints up by the Farmhouse/FMS were still free last year, the ones in the marketplace definitely charge though (and its not a Yorkshire/regional thing to hate those charges, i'm from the south coast and would happily walk an hour out of my way to not pay access charges 😄)
  13. Monday night, you’re on! I’ll be there 👍

Thats what i did on the sunday of 2022 - started with Courtney Barnett at the park, swung by for a good dollop of west holts and Bicep, which looked pretty damn great - and then i strolled slowly up the back of the pyramid field for a decent bit of Kendrick Lamar. i really enjoyed dipping into all three, it meant i didnt have to decide between them but still get a fair bit of the flavour of their set. Would do again, if i wasnt committed one way or another

Skindred rumoured to be thursday night, no? all your scheduling issues could be sorted!
  16. Fulu music look like a cross between GWAR and MF Doom, which i am absolutely 100% up for 😃
  17. ah, me too! - the car park is right next door to the oxfield, which is precisely why bringing proper pillows, duvets and everything is so easy! I like to make a proper sleeping area as comfy as possible, so the sleep i do get is extra good quality. I dont subscribe to that proviso of sleeping being cheating- not for me, no bloody way 😄
  18. Thats the one i have! Its very decent. I've previously used yer standard inflatable mattress and this is laughably superior to that. Though i tend to lay it down, put a folded duvet on it, and then sleep in a sleeping bag on top so its extra comfy. YMMV dependant on transport options!
  19. An absolutely beautiful walk, and the top half is the best by far! Bit bloody hilly though 😄 i live by the south downs, and have hiked the south downs way in full, and bits of it pretty much weekly for as long as ive had legs - i thought i was great at hill hiking. west highland way is absolutely next level hills 😬 I hiked the speyside way last year, that was lovely too but a fair sight easier and with an awful lot more whisky on the route 👍 perfect glastonbury prep!
  20. ho99o9 in the earache express in 2017 remains one of my top 3 glastonbury things ever, (possibly lifetime things ever!) it was absolutely mindblowing
  21. one day itll be back, i hope/pray/fervently wish
  22. Earache records: they've been booking a few heavier things for Glastonbury the last few years - since 2017 i think? Typically on the Truth stage, but they've had the earache express as well - i'd dearly love for that to come back, it was amazing
  23. ho99o9 😃 that is going to be OFF THE CHARTS skindred too, magnificent!
  24. Its a ten min walk outside gate B, and the car park is next door so there's no huge carry of stuff for miles - which is great for those of us who bring duvets, pillows, all that jazz . . .
  25. I am one of them myself, so should recognise you quite readily 😄 welcome aboard! (though you'll miss us if you're going in July!)
