  1. Quality song, excellent band.
  2. We were supposed to have a good battering but not too bad by all accounts. I managed a walk for 2 hours in complete dry.
  3. It's easy to get like it. I imagine we've all been there. Have a good one.
  4. I came on here, saw the topic was hot, hoped for some potentially interesting news and all I find is a a couple of pernickety people arguing over another festival. Some of the points are valid (inflation causing issues around the world and the struggle for festivals to book big headliners) which weirdly it seems you pretty much agree on yet you still argue! I can only work out that you disagree in music taste and what you consider good headliners, which among adults should be fine and not turned into arguments and insults. It's the nitpicking that's the worst. I know it's tough not having any Glastonbury line up news but can't you just go on a nice Sunday stroll, see family/friends, listen to music, watch a film, read a book, argue on X or doom scroll on Instagram?

    2024 New Music

The Folly Group album is good.
  6. Yes to this. Support the small independent venues and the acts playing in them. So much good live music for a fraction of the cost. Record store supported shows are a great way of seeing a well known act at a fraction of the price and in better venues.

    2024 New Music

I suppose it's similar to a lot of bands/artists from that era. I think, despite them looking likely to get to number 1, they are an underrated band. I can't think of a bad album.

The Shed Seven album is good. How come you found it surprising?
  9. In chronological order: 1 - Gently Tender - Heartbreakers, Southampton 2 - Will Varley - Railway, Winchester 3 - Panic Shack - The Loft, Southampton 4 - Pete Doherty - Royal Albert Hall 5 - Arctic Monkeys - Ageas Bowl 6 - Boygenius - Lowlands Festival 7 - Dry Cleaning - Lowlands Festival 8 - Midnight Rodeo - Heartbreakers, Southampton 9 - Skinny Lister - Engine Rooms, Southampton 10 - Big Moon - Papillon, Southampton
  10. Yeah, I don't hold much hope but while hope remains I'll cling onto it.
  11. I really enjoyed them on their last tour and I think they'd go down well at Glastonbury. I was kind of surprised that they didn't have 2 London nights booked and I was thinking maybe they see it as a nice way to finish their European tour. Hearing it as an exclusive for IOW makes it trickier and probably means they're not coming, but I suppose you can never rule out anyone until it's physically impossible for them not to be there.
  12. I was just looking at Green Day's tour and it appears they have Friday and Sunday of Glastonbury available. The Friday is less likely as they are in Dublin the night before but Sunday is the day after their Wembley show and although it would mean 2 nights in a row it isn't unheard of for them and they do have a month off before their American tour.
  13. Sorry, I meant my preferred choice.
  14. The current odds according to Radio X.
  15. I didn't really look at the chat about this year's festival due to not having a ticket, I'm not aware what the issues are.
  16. To be honest I wouldn't have any real idea. Apart from money, which isn't a valid reason if you've already done it, I can't see a reason why they wouldn't do it.
  17. Still it doesn't stop people, including on here banking on it. It's not like she mentioned Madonna either but that hasn't stopped people assuming she was booked.
  18. The only ones I can think of would fit the bill perfectly.
  19. I've been following the chat but didn't realise that Rihanna and Gaga were out. I think an easy swap might be P!nk. If Kylie is still being touted as the Legend spot then maybe she could come in as headliner. Other possibles to me (admittedly not looking at touring schedules) are: Beyonce Miley Cyrus Ariana Grande Nicki Minaj Lana Del Rey Katy Perry Admittedly I don't know much about pop music, so there must be more, or maybe some on this list not as big as I thought/no longer relevant enough. I realise there's other acts like Olivia Rodrigo who could get a bump up.
  20. I think if you think Coldplay and Killers are uninspiring then I think you've been to too many Glastonbury festivals. Those people who haven't been to many Glastonbury's will almost certainly think either or both are decent bookings even if they're not fans. Having said that, I can't believe after saying that 2 headliners will be female they will change it to 2 male lead singer bands that have played the festival plenty of times before, even if Madonna has pulled out. There must be plenty of good female acts that could step in.
  21. It was fantastic! I could have easily watched another hour.
  22. Saw the Big Moon with strings at Papillon in Southampton last night. They were amazing.

    GCSEs 2024

I lead a group of year 11's and the fact that the GSCES will be over is why I am able to go. I'm so excited as I thought it'll be many years before I'd be able to go back to Glastonbury.
