Anyone been on their own before and what was your experience like?
got fed up of my mates not liking fests so booked a ticket to Reading despite being an anxious person myself.
Just do it mate. I did Leeds every year from 04-12 each year the group got gradually smaller until the final year i went on my own.
As you get older there aren't always gonna be friends available to go to the stuff you want so doing something like this will really help you in the future to feel comfortable going to stuff you want to see. Since then I've done a solo trip yo Dallas to watch wrestlemania flew to Amsterdam straight after to see weezer then on to Barcelona for at the drive in. I did all that on my own and had a blast. You'll be surprised how easy it is to get talking to people after a drink, everyone is there for same reason so you have that in common.

All the talk of transmissions. I'm gonna go with joy division as headliners

Anyone know how much day tickets will be?
-
I must be cracking on cos besides rage courteeners and idles I've never heard of everyone else on the Leeds Friday. But idles and Rage is enough for the ticket price for me.

Still have my fingers crossed for the likes of Denzel Curry, Fontains DC, IDLES, Black MIDI .etc
Idles and Rage on same day would be enough to get me to return for first time since 2015. Saw Idles in Lisbon last summer only band to ever bring tears to my eyes from their performance.

Not sure why people are getting annoyed about this announcement? It was R1 and main stage, so of course it’s going to be the popular, potentially less inspiring
Once upon a time those stages were packed with inspiring bands year after year... before the dark times... before I got old 😭

Hard Disagree.
Last years undercard & headliners were the best in years. ADTR/Frank Carter/Ymas/Billie...it goes on
Last years lineup is one of the worst lineups I've seen in the 16 years I've been going to festivals.

I never thought I'd see:
a) My Chemical Romance
b) Rage Against The MachineI'm never giving up on Daft Punk.
Seen all 3. Daft Punk is best gig I've ever been to and its not even close.

So was the first email they sent out a few days ago, was that a hint at RATM in the end?
If so Wake Up is a Travis song
Wake up is a rage song, its more likely its just referencing that.

Daft punk in 2007 is the best gig I've ever seen. Absolutely no chance their comeback gig would be Blue Dot
-
I'd be pretty disappointed if she headlines.

when there's so much competition on the festival market as well as people's summer holidays I don't understand why they leave it so late for an announcement.
-
Me and a couple of friends are doing Blue dot for first time this year. Haven't gone to a camping festival in UK since Beacons in 2014. Mostly done one dayers or overseas festivals but we miss those 9am ciders on the campsite so time to get back in the saddle 😂

Of the ten leeds festivals I went to the three sets that spring to mind are Weezer 2010, At the drive in 2012 and Metallica 2015. Honourable mention to Klaxons in 2007.

Another great episode of Dynamite, they're really putting on the kind of shows that made me love wrestling in the the late nineties. Watched WWE weekly since 2012 but think I've only watched Raw 2 maybe 3 times in the past two months.

Had never heard of them but just taken a listen and like what I've heard. They're playing near me next week. I assume from your tour that they are good live|?
Yeah absolutely, ace live, Stephen Ansell really pounds on those drums and they've got great chemistry together on stage.
Here's a few songs from each album to get you going. Once you hear how many stone cold hits they have you'll be surprised they aren't bigger than they are.
It's getting boring by the sea
I wish I was someone better
Don't ask
Light it up
Colours fade

Just been round Europe last week to watch them in Prague, Hamburg and Amsterdam, seeing them in Leeds this weekend as well. Great addition to any festival lineup. Got to meet Laura-May couple of years ago as well she was great.

Pixies in 2020, and after that boring last record, should not be exciting for anyone anywhere.
The new album is ace.

Harry has never done festival shows but he'd be a fair, great shout for a co-head.
Is this what the world has come to?

Billy Eilish would just push me further away. I don't understand the hype surrounding her.
-
Very disappointing. Last year we booked off the back of The Cure alone, then we had the shambles of the lineup announcements taking forever. This year gonna wait and see what lineups are around before booking anything.

So excited for idles tonight

Staying in a nice airbnb apartment but no swimming pool. Is anyone aware of any outdoor pools open to the public for a small fee?
Lineup 2020
in Reading & Leeds Festivals

I'm in the same boat. Went to Leeds every year from 04-12. I think it's simply that we have got older and the target demographic don't like what we liked 15 years ago. Which is why you see people kicking off about Rage headlining. It's a shame but that's what happens through every generation it seems. I'm 34 and I have no idea about what teenagers early twenties are into now.
There are lots of good foreign festivals that still cater to an older audience tho. Done Nos Alive in Lisbon three times in last 4 years one of best festivals I've been to.
