  1. How do you come on and play this snoozefest of a set after Foo Fighters and Royal Blood just rocked the hell out of pyramid stage. Arctic monkeys do not deserve the hype they've built up. Its even worse than the Leeds 2009 set right after Prodigy that put everyone to sleep.
  2. I'm heading to this as well. Booked my hotel and travel as soon as it was announced. Haven't done Leeds since 2015, its unrecognisable from the festival I attended for ten years.
  3. I went last year but this years lineup is far too middle of the road for me.
  4. This is the first leeds and reading lineup that has an entire day of acts with nothing that interests me. I haven't been since 2015 and unless there's a huge shift in what young people enjoy listening to I'm resigned to the fact that the glory days of Leeds and Reading being THE alternative festival are never coming back and I'll probably never attend again. Fortunately there's still some smaller UK festivals and big European ones offering value for money lineups.
  5. Trash lineup this year. Our group were excited to go again and said we'd go whatever the lineup was but after seeing how bad it is we've cancelled all plans.
  6. Anyone know when day tickets will go on sale?
  7. Think I'm tapping out for Nos next year. Can't justify the expense for the lineup they are offering.
  8. That Mad Cool lineup has done nothing to convince my friends making the trip to Nos will be worthwhile next year.
  9. nos organisers must really not want to sell tickets this year
  10. really scraping bottom of the barrel this year
  11. I saw them in September but I was too drunk to remember it. Did the same for Machine Head a week later lol.
  12. Great to see IDLES back. They were great in 2019 and smashed Glastonbury this year
  13. I think it's safe to say we aren't getting anything today.
  14. Same with Nos. I can't remember them ever leaving it this late for an announcement. You'd think they'd want tickets on sale in plenty of time before christmas.
  15. Good to hear they have made improvements but we have such a great time at Nos we don't see the need to risk it especially when the lineups are so similar anyway.
  16. I've been to both Nos and Mad Cool, my experience of them was different to the previous posted. While Mad Cool does have a better lineup I found it to be terribly organised and it ruined our experience of it. Every stage had vip areas so you couldnt get close to the front, card machines went down and there were no cash machines, insane queues for bars and cheapest drink was 12 euros and excessive overcrowding. On the other hand i've been to nos in 09, 16, 17 and 19 and we are returning again next year. Its a smaller site but not overcrowded, easy to get to front of stages, reasonably priced food and drink and great atmosphere. You can walk from second stage to main stage in a few minutes even when its busy. There isn't a lineup in the world that could get us to return to Mad Cool after the farce we experienced in 2018. Some people say we shouldn't judge it based on 4 years ago, but for me its not worth risking our summer festival plans for one that let us down so badly, when we know Nos always delivers.
  17. I'd be quite surprised if we don't get some kind of announcement this week, its already much later than previous years. We've always stayed in hotels/apartments, its too hot to be camping. Festival doesn't open until 4 so during the day you want the comfort of a hotel with swimming pool to recharge before going back out to party until 4am.
  18. Yeah I've got one for 340 for 4 days which i'll split with my brother and its a 20 minute drive to Donnington.
  19. Just booked a hotel in Derby from 8-12th incase the lineup is mega. Not been since 2012 the last time Metallica played.
  20. I actually told one of my friends recently she'd be better off going to see Antarctic Monkey at Leeds Academy instead of shelling out for an AM stadium show.
  21. I'd say Arcade Fire/Depeche Mode/Prodigy all in with a shout of headlining
  22. It's not a risk I'm willing to take when I know Nos is fantastic every time.
  23. I've been to Nos in 09, 16, 17 and 19 and we are returning next year regardless of what the lineup is, one of best organised festivals around and guaranteed to have a great time. In contrast I went to Mad Cool in 2018 (which had the best lineup i've ever seen) but in contrast is the worst festival I've been to. Poorly organised, too expensive, VIP areas for the stages ruining the atmosphere, stages too close together so everywhere is overcrowded. We onky saw 5 bands across the whole weekend in 2018 as a result of the poor organisation and prices. Do yourself a favour, ignore whatever lineup Mad Cool puts on and just go to Nos. There's a reddit thread from the day after night one of Mad Cool 2018 that goes into detail about how bad it was
  24. There are much worse things in life you could be obsessed about than music. I get the most pleasure in life from live music, I watched Duran Duran last night, got Primal Scream, Prodigy and Richard Ashcroft in next ten days which will be my 600th gig.
  25. Bunch coming up this month, Love, Duran Duran, Primal Scream, Prodigy and Richard Ashcroft.
