  1. I think they do throw in some solo songs too or at least have done in the past
  2. Enjoying the album so far. Phoebe's lead songs definitely feel like they could have just been taken off of Punisher (no bad thing, of course). Its definitely hit the high expectations I had for it. Not sure how this really translates in terms of popularity as I know their outdoor UK gigs have yet to sell out when I last checked. Could make a very good Other sub or headliner at one of the other stages.
  3. The Woodsies secret set feels like the most obvious option to me.
  4. Would be good to see them in a bigger venue on site as its always rammed
  5. Assume they'll be returning to their Thursday evening Croissant Neuf slot which they did in 2017 and 2019? Always absolutely rammed and my favourite way to kick things off that night.
  6. Suede are a great shout. I do suspect it could be another band from the 2000s though.
  7. Forums incredibly slow for me on my work laptop but absolutely fine on my personal macbook. Both using the same wifi.
  8. I'd say its generally fine but I've found that they tend to just put you on any coach for the busier destination cities and the reservations go out the window.
  9. Jungle....really? I like some of their music but I'm really surprised by that booking. The Haim day on the other hand is as close to you'll get as a perfect day of music for me.

    Newbie poll

Efests since Jan 2005 apparently? First Glastonbury was that year too.
  11. My experience of the train to Glastonbury involved space being so limited that I spent a large portion of the journey sat with lots of bags in the toilet...one tip is if you can bear standing then do so near the door so you can be one of the first off once you arrive at Castle Cary. Helped that I was alone as I could instantly hop off and get to the shuttle bus queue quickly. Coach is much less stressful and its nice to arrive at the queue at gate A.
  12. Certainly not a novelty act by any means. Fun, yes, but their records are really great too! Its been fascinating to see their meteoric rise in recent years. Seems almost purely based on word of mouth (with the exception of some heavy-ish radio play for Holiday)
  13. Well I'll have to disagree there! Adore both of them and Lana has consistently put out some of my personal favs §and most critically acclaimed records in recent years. Also despite a lack of mainstream coverage in recent times she still consistently has a huge number of streams up there with many of the biggest artists so I'd definitely say she has plenty that think she's an icon. That said (I'll park my Lana obsession for a moment), she's definitely a bit of a nightmare in how she carries herself and this isn't a good look!
  14. Lana's comment reminds me of when Janet Jackson's team edited the poster and put her first at the top haha
  15. I'm sure the festival is a wonderful experience for children but seems sensible to expect people not to be taking their kids to the SE corner in the early hours. Its hard enough not to lose your friends let alone how mad it might be with small children. Also as a lot of the venues are club type venues I'm not sure what there really is for kids beyond a few visuals?

"Trash human" feels like a needlessly nasty way to describe someone so inoffensive...
  17. Possibly, but I think some folk still underestimate the scale. Its not just a case of sending out a release but having an active team ready for enquiries that come in as a result. Ensuring spokespeople like Emily are well briefed ahead of interviews (for example, a clear answer on why an all male set of headliners and the many other issues that come up).
  18. I would say its a little naive to assume the Glastonbury team don't have a major comms and media plan in place. Of course they do. I think the difference is they have the power to be proactive with their planning and less reactive to what other events are up to. There will be major coordination with the likes of the BBC on what is announced and when. Too many partners and stakeholders not to be a least a little bit organised on the press front!
  19. Basically this. All it will take is a relatively newer act with enough mainstream appeal to take a huge chunk of the crowd though.
  20. Ahh had not seen as I got this image today directly from the journo who tweeted it earlier - apologies!
  21. Love that we have the same photo but I'm just a bit further back. The cloud even looks the same and the flag is blocking the screen too!
  22. Interesting comments on Glastonbury from Simon LeBon here. Says they've yet to be offered a slot and would basically only do it for the right slot...
  23. This is fair but sometimes a shower really does make you feel a lot better. I don't often do it due to queues but times I have I've really felt the benefit
