  1. C'est la vie. Getting to the festival late means we're trying to do one trip and be as quick as possible in getting setup and out into the mixer. There's a bit of difference between Orange 35 and Pink 54 though! Conversely I could use a quick getaway on Monday morning - so was hoping to split the difference and get near a vehicle exit!
  2. As an aside - it really looks like the festival wants coach travellers to camp in Darble! With the closure of the pedestrian route through Pylon, I also note that thin strip of "no public access" between Woodsies and Wicket Ground. Not sure they could open that up to the public due to being a backstage area, but possibly just on the Wed/Thurs/Mon. I'm sure I've asked this before, but arriving to the West car parks on a Thursday 6pmish, any idea where I'm likely to get plonked? Or does the "carpark filling strategy" change every year?
  3. Yep I'm in the same boat, although travelling by car and will be parked in the West car parks. My thoughts were to head for either PGA or PGD depending on where I was parked - but concerned if I go via PGA and it's full around there it's a bit of a chew on to get to the camping in the SW following the closure of Pylon Also, due to the late nature of my arrival we're going to attempt to carry everything in one go... 😩
  4. My car read 37 when I arrived on Wednesday in 2017, and as we walked into the valley from the carparks we found the air getting warmer and more stifling. Later on that day I realised I'd drank 3l of water and 2.5l of cider without using the toilet! Thursday dropped to a comparatively chilly 17 iirc
  5. Kelly got really sh*t handwriting? 😃
  6. Fair enough. Planning on seeing them and if they're crap I'll make an early exit and head for Barrington Levy / Far From Saints
  7. What's bad about them? Can't play, or just Debbie's voice gone, or what?
  8. OK so this is slightly off-topic but seems like a good place to ask 🙂 I need a new winter coat, and summer seems the best time of year to buy one. I went to the Lakes during Storm Arwen and was frozen, so bought a new winter coat then. However, buying one in those circumstances meant I ended up getting some proper heavy ski jacket type thing that's actually too warm to wear the majority of the winter. I don't think I wore it once this year. So I'm still on the lookout for a new one to replace my ancient North Ridge effort. So, water/windproof, decent hood, insulated but more of a lighter level of winter insulation than the ski jacket... any suggestions of good quality coats / bargains in the sales? Any time I see something in a sale while in a shop I can never find a single review of it online!
  9. Is Pink or Orange parking best, or do you not get that choice?
  10. It's just there now where I'd expect it - how weird! I'm sure it's not me cos I did CTRL + F too to make sure! "Avalon" produced 3 results and "Cafe" none!
  11. Weird, it's not on my Clashfinder, and I've checked hidden stages too. Looking on the official website and it seems that the music stops around the same time as the main stage headliners this year. That's another shame (along with WG going) - one of my go-to places for some late night fun music that wasn't too crowded. It used to finish around 3:00.
  12. What's with all you people eating one meal a day?? I'd be dead by Thursday night. What do you eat at home? I have 3 square meals a day (plus a snack or two) and I'll need more energy at Glastonbury that I do lounging in front of the TV.
  13. I'd like an immediate drop as it's more important than work
  14. Actually I did get a cider here, in 2017 I think. It was cheap, and shall we say, "interesting"... 🙂
  15. Ah yes forgot about them. Didn't go frequently but enjoyed them when I did
  16. Don't normally 'hit up bars', my general MO is to just grab a cider from the nearest place that do a proper one then bimble onto the next shindig. I last went in 2019 and a proper cider was a hard thing to find indeed, only the cider bus that we found. Yet reading this thread it appears that the crew bars are filled with delectable treats not available to the average punter?
  17. Normally travel down from the North East on Wednesday morning. It's about a 7 hour journey so we normally arrive 2-3pm and walk straight in. However, this year it's our baby's first birthday on the Thursday of the festival. So we're not allowed to set off until we've spent some time with him and then deposited him at his grandparents! So who knows what time I'll arrive? The exact departure time is the subject of fierce debate 😃 My plan is to travel to the West car parks (despite coming from the North East) as there'll be no traffic by then, and the spare camping by this point will be over on the West side of site. The only problem is we'd like to make a quick (but safe) getaway on Monday to get back to the little man but now we'll have to cross from the West of site to the East on Monday morning which could be problematic...
  18. Yeah, found AF IPAs to be nice, but AF "traditional ales" that I've tried have been abysmal - including Doom Bar (I can't remember the rest I tried, which is a shame as I'd like to know what to avoid in future)
  19. I desperately missed that stall in 2019. It didn't help that it was tucked away right at the back corner of the field; most people probably didn't know it was there. The cider was superb, and back then "just" £4.50 a pint (the cider bus was £4). It was our go-to stop for a drink. There's nowhere on site now (last went in 2019) apart from the cider bus where you can get a real cider to my knowledge.
  20. Definitely Wednesday for me - all things being equal. Soak up as much as the atmosphere possible on that rare one weekend of the year (when you get tickets). I'd probably be more flexible if I lived closer, but I'll be missing most of Thursday too travelling down this year unfortunately.
  21. Also in the Thursday boat for the first time since my first fest in 2005! We'll be driving down from the North East on Thursday unfortunately so won't be there until later on. We've previously parked in the East car parks as they were always a quick getaway and on the correct side of site for heading back to the NE. We've also feared the tales of taking 5 hours to get out of the West car parks, especially with a ~7 hour drive home following it. However, these camping areas listed above are on the far West of site. Can anyone alleviate my West car parking fears? 🙂
  22. Slightly off-topic, but could you get any decent cider in 2022? In 2019 the only place I found doing real cider on the entire site was the cider bus. Previously you could at least get it at William's Green, Avalon Inn and Bimble Inn.
  23. Anyone got a link to a post-Dill Danding live performance?? 🤣
  24. Oooh tent talk! Now - who can help me with my specific requirements? 😃 I went to Bearded Theory with my then 8-month pregnant partner this year, so we bought an Outwell Posadas Double camp bed, with an inflatable mattress to go on top of it. It was epic - so comfortable at a festival. Problem is - it didn't really fit in our tent. When looking at the dimensions it seemed there'd be loads of room, but of course with the shape of the tent you lose a load of that sleeping area having to move the raised camp bed away from the edges in order to fit it in. So we're after a tent that will fit that double camp bed in the bedroom, and also have space for our child! We're not taking the camp bed to Glastonbury unfortunately, but this tent will do most of our future camping trips. Out existing tent is a Freedom Trail Ullswater 4. I've only got the overall dimensions of 455l and 260w. Will have to see if I get more details on the tent itself when I next go into the loft.
